Texas Bluebonnet Voting

Our students voted at the end of last month for their favorite Texas Bluebonnet Award (TBA) nominee book. It was close, but the book that won for Sablatura was The Night Gardener by Jonathan Auxier. Our votes were sent to Austin, and we are now waiting to see what book won for the state.

Tic Tac Toe Using Destiny

During the first few weeks of February, students will play a Tic Tac Toe game in the library using Destiny, our circulation system. They will work in groups to see if certain books are checked in or out of the library. If the book is checked in, the groups will then need to go find the book on the shelf. This activity is meant to helps students get more familiar with Destiny and the different sections of the library.

Six-Word Memoirs

Later in the month, students will spend a little time researching presidents to write a Six-Word Memoir about their president. The fun part is reading the memoirs and trying to figure out who each one is about.

Read It Forward Program

Mrs. Foreman hid this year's books (Zane and the Hurricane by Rodman Philbrick) last week around the school. If students find a book, they read the book, sign the inside front cover, pass the book to a friend, come to the library to talk to Mrs. Foreman about the

book. receive a Read It Forward prize, write their name on the Read It Forward bulletin board, and get to attend the Read It Forward party at the end of the year.

If you have any questions about the program, be sure to stop by the library to talk to Mrs. Foreman
