Jasper Elementary School
Best Start in the History of JES
We are so happy to announce that parents, teachers, staff, and students seem to be off to a fantastic start to the school year. Buses have had some adjustments, but everyone seems to be adapting to those changes very well. We thank everyone for their positive attitude and desire to work together for the betterment of our students.
To continue this fabulous start, we encourage parents and teacher to communicate frequently for better understanding of our strategies. If you have any questions that is schoolwide in concern, feel free to contact Mr. Erny or Mr. Taylor in the Jasper Elementary School office. We are truly "Better Together".

School Safety
School Safety is a top priority at Jasper Elementary School. During the upcoming week we will be practicing school wide safety drills. These drills are not meant to scare the students. We understand that some students may be anxious or scared during these drills, especially those who have never been in school. Our staff will be talking about the expectations with our students to prepare them for the drills. Please talk with you students about the importance of the drills and that we are conducting these drills to help keep everyone safe.
Thank you!!
Morning Drop Off
When dropping off your students in the morning we ask that you pull all the way forward to first flag. We ask that you utilize the entire sidewalk to drop your students off. By utilizing the entire sidewalk, we are able to get to more cars through our drop off line and keep the traffic from backing up onto the road. We also ask that all drivers stay in the vehicle and students should exit the right side of car on the curb. Please don't park you car along the curb and walk you child into the building. Thanks for you help in this matter!!
A Reason to Smile
Jasper Elementary School students and staff will be photographed on Tuesday, August 30 in the gym. In an attempt to keep everyone's clothes and hair in pristine condition, morning recesses will be cancelled. We will have enough photographers on site to photograph the entire school prior to lunch being served too. The only exception to this will be our afternoon Pre-Kindergarten students who will be photographed after their arrival that afternoon. Please be looking or special information coming home with your child.
Volunteer/Background Checks
With the new school year upon us, we often get the question about volunteering in the classroom or being a chaperone on a field trip. We always love when our families want to help the students or take part in a field trip.
When it comes to volunteers, each classroom is different on the number of volunteers needed. Each classroom teacher will be communicating if they are needing volunteers to help in the classrooms. When it comes to chaperones on field trips, it will be up to each grade level and classroom teacher as to how many chaperones are allowed to follow the bus. Some of the places we take trips to limit the number of chaperones we are allowed to take.
If you would be interested in volunteering or being a chaperone on a field trip, we must have a background check on file. By clicking on the link below, you will be able to fill out a background check. These will last for 5 years or while your child is at JES. It does take some time to process these, so start early so you are able to volunteer or chaperone.
