A Message From Principal Dolan
Dear MPE Families,
Our week was amazing! We had so much fun and learned a lot. Please be sure to read the Weekly Roar for updated information. Next week is a time to show appreciation to our amazing MPE team. I would like to encourage you to take a moment to send your favorite staff member a thank you note. The professionals at MPE are working very hard to make sure that all of our students are learning, thriving and developing values and skills. Each day on the announcements we talk about kindness, mindfulness and trying our best.
Next Tuesday, there will a change in dismissal locations. See below for details.Be sure to register for the Color Run.
Our Bingo Night, Author Visit, Pep Rally and Take Your Child to Work Day Celebrations were memorable and engaging. Our students learned about Autism Awareness throughout the week as our student council shared information on the morning announcements, wore blue on Friday and talked about inclusivity during the Pep Rally. We had an LNHN representative come visit us as well as Dr. Block who sang to us. Our author was an exceptional presenter who taught us about writing and illustrating. We even sang an alphabet song.
Our Newspaper Club, Student Council and Safety Patrol all held meetings this week. We are working together to create a fun, connected school family where everyone is accepted and valued. Thank you for continuing those important conversations at home. One of the books we read in some of our classes this week is titled Just Ask, which is all about children with disabilities. I highly recommend this book.
Our organisms came to grade K and 1 this week. We have tadpoles and duck eggs. We can't wait to see them grow!
Art Appreciation is taking place in the classrooms and we are proud to announce that the Cultural Awareness Committee is preparing a lesson about Ramadan. Next month, we will post photos and learning about famous Jewish and Asian Americans. Thank you to all of the parent volunteers. You are greatly appreciated!
Students are working on their Multicultural Night trifolds! Please plan to attend on May 11th!
Later in the school year, we will begin to create our class lists for next year. Although we do not accept teacher requests, your feedback is extremely helpful. Please complete the following before May 10th. Thank you in advance for your input. This is completely optional and not required.
