Welcome to the Prairie Point Panther Press!
Principal's Letter
Dear Prairie Point Families:
As you prepare for the Thanksgiving holiday, I wanted to take a minute to recognize the wonderful community that I serve. I have enjoyed walking the halls over the past week and reading the posters that the students in Student Leadership have put in throughout the hallways. These posters highlight the many things that our students are thankful for and serve as a reminder of what makes Prairie Point an awesome school community. I am thankful for this community and feel grateful each day that I am able to celebrate student learning.
Our teachers and staff have been touched by the outpouring of gratitude through our “Thankful For Your Forms.” There is still time to recognize and thank a teacher or staff member by filling the form using this link: https://forms.gle/cf4gVNJSBngfGDZK9. Thank you for recognizing our AWESOME teachers and staff!
As we begin the second trimester, there are a few things I would like to bring to your attention. The first is an update on Snow Days. While our weather has been relatively mild, we have already had those first flakes of snow. If we need to close school for a snow day, students will now have packets of learning to work on at home. By participating in learning at home, we will no longer have to make up snow days at the end of the year. By November 23rd, these packets will be added to students’ binders or folders. You will receive more information about Snow Day packets from me and from your child’s teacher in the next few weeks.
Please also know that students in grades 2 - 5 will be taking the Fastbridge winter benchmark testing between 11/30 and 12/15. Your child’s teacher will provide more specific dates on when testing will occur for your child.
Once again, I wanted to thank our school community for your continued support and commitment. I am very grateful for the Prairie Point community. I hope that your family has a safe and restful Thanksgiving. As always, please do not hesitate to reach out to me directly if you have any questions.
Happy Thanksgiving!
Dr. Jennifer Groves
Principal
