Safe Driving

No one wants an accident. No one wants anyone to get hurt. I assure you that taking a few extra seconds, or a minute or two to wait in line a little longer, or to be a tad more cautious before merging into traffic will be worth it in the long run. Please follow the expected routines for pick up and drop off.

K-5 families, you should know that our preschool program begins dropping off students at 7:55. These parents have to exit their vehicle to get their child out of their car seats. This takes more time and has people getting in and out of their vehicles which can be more unsafe. PLEASE exercise caution and patience.

Mrs. Ekstrom's Class shares some photos from their first 30 days of school!

Pictures will happen during the school day on November 18. More information will be sent home, but please mark this on your calendars. Distance Learning Students will have the opportunity to have their photos taken this day between 2:00 - 3:30, more details to come.

- Wash your Hands

We continue to work together to keep everyone safe!

While the vast majority of families have settled into the decision that you have made for learning this school year, we have had some movement as families are learning what plan is best for the needs of their family and children. Please know that as the year progresses we will continue do our best to work with families as needs change but know that we are getting close to capacity in some grade levels which may result in a longer time period before change requests can be accommodated.

If you would like to be considered for a transfer from the Safe Learning Plan to the Distance Learning Option, or vice versa, please contact the Rosa Parks office. These requests are considered on a weekly basis.

Further detail -

The district elementary administrative team reviews requests on a weekly basis every Thursday.

After your transfer request is received in the school office, you may be contacted by Mr. Kamphoff to discuss the reason for the request. Depending on the capacity at both the school and distance learning class, staffing could be impacted. Approval to change options may come as early as the following week but could also take weeks based on the overall numbers.

Once your request is approved, you will be notified of the change and be given a start date.

Rosa Parks is a Schoolwide Title 1 School. In the past, Title 1 funds were available to

provide additional support to students who qualified based on their test scores. As a Schoolwide Title 1 school we are now able to utilize those resources more flexibly to support any students that would benefit. This fits wonderfully with our small group instruction blocks when students receive acceleration or enrichment based on their specific needs. Feel free to contact the school if you have questions.

As a parent, you have the right to request information about the qualifications of your child’s teacher(s). For further information, contact Dan Kamphoff, principal at Rosa Parks Elementary.
