ZB Parent Bulletin
Some thoughts for the starting school year
Principal's Message 1/20/23
As semester 1 came to a close , we immediately began to analyze our areas of success and where we needed to improve. With a focus on student conduct, freshman on track and attendance, we plan to implement some strategies for semester 2 to see significant gains by the end of the school year. We also will begin finalizing our school improvement plan for 2023-24.
Parents play a key role in determining the results of our 5 Essential Survey data and it is important that participation levels are sufficient in order to gather accurate data for school improvement. Parent opinion and perspective matter, and this survey is one of the keys ways for their voices to be heard. In the upcoming days there will be links on our website and the ZB news flash to the parent survey. We will also have chrome books in every office in our building stationed, so that visiting parents can take the survey whenever they come to our campus. Please support us in gathering more information to make our school better for your students

ZB Spotlight
FBLA
On Friday Jan. 13th, 24 of our students competed at our Northern Area FBLA competition. In summary we had 4 first place winners among our 16 competitors who placed top 4 in their events! This is great accomplishment as we look forward to getting national qualifiers at the State Competition in April.
Boys' Bowling
Frankie Rojas, sophomore took 8th place in the NSC Conference tournament. Frankie bowled a 1235 series in 6 games which is very impressive. As this is our first year for boys bowling, Frankie is our first ever boys medalist in the NSC boys bowling conference tourney. Congrats to Frankie!
Boys' Swimming
Nick Schutz, senior, competed in the Elk Grove swim invite and medaled twice. He took 3rd in the 100 free and 2nd in the 200 free.
Ryan Schutz, sophomore, brought home two medals. He took 3rd in the 50 free and 1st in the 100 backstroke! Congrats to both of the Schutz brothers!
Technology Tidbits
Call to Action
The New Year is a time of reflection. The office of the Technology Department has done some reflection of our own. We would like to take this opportunity to build an innovative future with meaningful objectives and partnerships. This February we will start work in developing a 3-Phase Technology Plan which will drive our decision-making through 2026. We want to make sure everyone has an opportunity to collaborate on this plan, including parents. We are hoping to have up to five ZBTHS 126 parents join the committee. We hope to accomplish our goals in 8 meetings from 2:50 pm to 4:50 pm starting on January 23, 2023.
Are you interested in being part of the 3-Phase Technology Planning Committee?
