Meal Pick-Up Time Change
Meal pick-up times are being adjusted to assist with traffic flow around the elementary schools as students return the week of January 18. Starting next week, families with children in elementary school are asked to pick-up meals between 10:45 AM and 11:15 AM. Families with students in middle and high school are asked to pick up meals from Noon until 1:30 PM.
If you would like us to send lunch home with your child who is attending in-person, please call the office.
Attention In-Person and Remote Families: Transition to Hybrid
We are looking forward to welcoming some of our Patriots back to the building and continuing to support others online in the coming weeks. Please note as a result of the transition, ALL students will have a change in their schedules as teachers will be supporing students in-person during the morning and online in the afternoons. Teachers and case managers emailed schedules to parents last week for your review. More information regarding arrival/dismissal procedures, self-certification protocols, and safety requirements are detailed for all families below. We thank you for taking the time to read each thoroughly as many routines from the past have changed.
- January 19th - Grades K, 1, 2, and RISE

Required Daily Self-Certification Process for In-Person Students
Parents need to use ParentVUE to self-certify that students coming on campus are free of COVID-like symptoms before students arrive at school each day.
When you login to ParentVUE, you will see a screen asking you to self-certify that your child is symptom free. This video explains the simple process of how to complete this step. If this step is not completed and your child is at school, a health services staff member will call you to discuss your child's health status.
Please note, if you are using the ParentVUE app to self-certify, you need to make sure you are using the most updated version and are logged in. If you have any difficulties with the app, please use the desktop version to complete self-certification.
The self-certification prompt will appear each day you login to ParentVUE, regardless of your child’s schedule for in-person learning. You only need to complete this step on the days your child will be at school.
We ask that you please monitor your child's health closely and keep them home if they aren't feeling well. You can report your child's absence using ParentVUE after completing the self-certification process.
School Arrival Procedures
Arrival Procedures begin at 8:50 and end at 9:00. Students arriving after 9:00 will need to arrive through the main office.
Arriving by bus: Students will be greeted by Kendall Staff upon arrival and directed to meet their teacher inside. Students in grades K-3 will meet their class in the gym. Students in grades 4-5 will meet their class in the Multi-Purpose Room.
Arriving by car: Drivers should approach Kendall driving east on Meadow Lake, turn right onto Pradel Drive and right again into the parking lot circle drive. No left turns into the circle drive are permitted at arrival or dismissal. Drivers should pull as far forward as possible to the stop sign. Students may only exit the vehicle along the curb and should not exit into the alleyway. Drivers may not get out of the car during drop-off or pick up. Students will be greeted by staff and directed to meet their teacher inside. Students in grades K-3 will meet their class in the gym. Students in grades 4-5 will meet their class in the Multi-Purpose Room.
Arriving on foot: Students walking to school may enter at Door #2 (North, East, and West Walkers), Door #5 (South Walkers grades K-3), or Door #8 (South Walkers grade 4-5). Walkers are reminded to only cross at our designated crosswalks which are monitored by a crossing guard on duty. Crossing guards are stationed at the intersection of Meadow Lake Drive/Royal Worlington Drive and Meadow Lake Drive/Pradel Drive. No students, with or without an adult should cross at any other location. Please model this safety procedure for students.
Arrival for RISE students: Parents and district buses will use the front circle drive for arrival. Drivers should go no further than half way forward in the drive. Students will remain in the vehicle until staff comes to escort them into the building through Door #12.
School Dismissal Procedures
Dismissal to buses: Staff will notify teachers when busses arrive. Teachers will then dismiss students to load the bus for departure.
Dismissal for walkers: Classroom teachers will dismiss walkers at 11:25. North, East, and West walkers will exit Door #2. They will proceed either to the crossing at Pradel Drive or Royal Worlington Drive to head home. South Walkers will exit Door #5 (grades K-3) or #8 (grades 4-5). They will proceed to the sidewalk on Pradel Drive and head south to go home. NOTE: students who need to cross Pradel Drive to walk home should leave with North, East and West Walkers toward the Crossing Guard at Meadow Lake and Pradel.
Dismissal for car riders: Drivers should approach Kendall driving east on Meadow Lake, turn right onto Pradel Drive and right again into the parking lot circle drive. No left turns into the circle drive are permitted at arrival or dismissal. Drivers should have their designated Car Line Number displayed upon entry into the circle drive for Kendall staff to see. Once your number is called, proceed toward the stop sign, pulling all the way forward. Beginning at 11:25, staff will dismiss students when their number is called and students will proceed to their car. Drivers and passengers must stay in their vehicle at all times.
Dismissal for RISE students: Buses and cars will wait in the front circle drive. Staff will escort students from door #12 to their vehicle beginning at 11:25 a.m.
Safetly Protocols
Staff will guide students in social distancing expectations throughout the building. Parents can reinforce by encouraging their child(ren) to listen to staff and follow their directions. The building has been updated with significant signage and floor arrows to support traffic flow and distancing in all areas.
Regular handwashing will be encouraged and in some cases supervised. All learning spaces have been equiped with hand sanitizer for use by staff and students when handwashing is not possible.
Students will not share materials at school. Classroom teachers will communicate with families what materials in-person students will need in their backpack or in their desks at school.
For parents of Students with Medications and Emergency Plans
In anticipation of in-person learning resuming, please contact your doctor’s office to complete your child’s emergency plan or medication order. With many districts in the area planning a return to school the physicians’ offices will become busier, making it more difficult to obtain these completed forms in a timely manner.
Please contact our nurse, Jaime DiGiovanni, to set up a time to drop off your child’s medication at 630-428-7110. Remember, the medications must be in the original labeled container and the dose must match the written order.
