Family Newsletter
3/13/22
It's hard to believe we are finished with 3rd quarter. I know the end of the year gets so busy with activities and it just flies by. Our 5th graders went to JA Biz Town this week and did awesome!
Thank you in advance for all the families who are helping with the art show, book fair, and staff appreciation conference dinner. Our school community always steps up to meet any need that arises. We appreciate all you do!
Friday is our last day before Spring Break. I have encouraged staff to truly take the time away to disconnect from work and focus on their wellbeing. We want everyone to return refreshed and ready to finish the year strong. I will be available over the break via email only and will be trying to remain as disconnected as possible. i hope that you and your family are also able to enjoy the time away. I will not be sending another newsletter until Sunday, March 27.
Please reach out at any time to share any questions, concerns, or ideas. I am here to help and support you and your family. Thanks for all you do to help keep our students and staff safe.

Talking to your child about grades
A discussion with your child about grades can be an effective conversation starter that leads to a broader discussion about school in general. Allowing your child the opportunity to share thoughts and feelings not just about academics but also about social issues and their teachers is just as important as a conversation about grades. Families can use these tips to talk to kids about grades in a positive and effective way.
Please check the lost & found in the cafe on Tuesday when you visit the building to claim any student items. Unclaimed items will be donated. Thanks!

Reporting Postive Covid Cases
Per our commitment to transparency throughout the pandemic, the KSD COVID Dashboard will continue to provide information about positive cases in the District. View the dashboard by visiting kirkwoodschools.org/coviddashboard
The primary role of the dashboard is to provide data specific to the potential for in-school transmission. One of the ways we can ensure the dashboard is as up-to-date as possible is quick and accurate reporting of any student that tests positive for COVID. Families can self report a positive case by using the form below:
Thank you for your assistance in ensuring our data is as current as possible.
Additionally, St. Louis County provides a map by zip code and school district to track community cases. It's available at: https://data.stlouisco.com/apps/covid-19-cases-by-zip-code-in-stl-county/explore
