*Students may bring in Valentines for their classmates. Teachers will hand out Valentines to students. Any treats to be shared with the class must be teacher approved and store bought. To the maximum extent possible, we ask that students bring in their Valentines and/or treats rather than dropping them off. If your child is unable to bring in their Valentines or classroom treats, we ask that you drop them off on Monday, 2/14/22 from 8am-9am or 10am-1pm. This will allow us enough time to ensure that treats get to the appropriate classrooms in time for class parties.

A MESSAGE FROM MISS DiNARDO
Our School Counselor
The holidays and the parties and festivities associated with them are long gone. The weather is cold, the sun isn’t out long enough, and our spirits may be waning! How do we avoid seasonal depression? I am not a doctor, but here are some tips from Dr. Kristen Clark, a psychiatrist from Neptune, New Jersey, as offered in the Fall issue of HealthU:
- STAY ACTIVE - Exercise naturally combats the chemical imbalances which can contribute to depression.
- EAT HEALTHILY - What we eat impacts our mental health. Load up on vegetables and fruits, limit highly processed foods. These healthy choices can reduce the inflammation in our bodies, which is a risk factor for depression.
- STAY CONNECTED - Keep in touch with family and friends, by any means that works for you, for a healthy and happy mind.
- GET OUTSIDE - Enjoy the fresh air, and if it’s sunny, even better! If you can’t get outside, sit by a window where the daylight and sunshine are streaming in.
