Hello Rountree Family!
As we begin the 2020 – 2021 school year, Allen ISD has compiled additional resources for our families. These resources are available on the Allen ISD website and can be accessed through the following links:
The COVID-19 Prevention, Mitigation, and Response Procedures outline the current procedures our campuses will have in place to prevent or mitigate the spread of COVID-19 and how to respond if a positive case is identified.
The Academic Information for Families webpage provides instructional information and resources related to In-Person and At-Home learning models, digital learning tools, and academic supports. As students began the first day of school on August 12 by participating in At-Home Learning, this specific content will be helpful as you and your student start the school year:
- Weekly Learning Plans - an overview of the learning objectives, activities, and due dates
- Instructional Roles and Expectations – a list of learning and teaching expectations for students, parents, and teachers
- Digital Learning Tools – resources to help students learn how to access and use:
- Google Classroom and Seesaw (for elementary students)
- Canvas (for secondary students)
- Google Meet and Zoom (video conferencing platforms for virtual learning interactions)
- Student Attendance – process for recording attendance through daily engagement measures while participating in At-Home Learning

Allen ISD Curbside Meal Service Has Begun
Curbside meals will be offered on Tuesdays (2 Breakfasts and 2 Lunches) and Thursdays (3 Breakfasts and 3 Lunches) after the first week. Meals must be purchased as a complete bundle, and cannot be purchased separately.
All meal bundles will be priced according to the student’s eligibility (SEE ATTACHED LETTER). Parents and/or students may pick up the meal bundles by scanning their student’s ID Card or providing their student’s ID number. ID Cards have been distributed at your child’s school. To help ensure a smooth purchasing process, please ensure that there is adequate funding to your child’s PayPams account or purchase meal bundles using cash or check by placing in an envelope with your child’s name and ID and depositing at the curbside meal station at one of the five locations. Students are encouraged to pick up meal bundles at the closest location to their regularly assigned school; however, any Allen ISD student can receive meals at any of the five locations (1 bundle per student per day).
McKinney-Vento Homeless Assistance Act
Please see the attached flyer (English and Spanish) as assistance opportunities are available for children whose families may be experiencing homelessness.

Rountree Family,
Additional Helpful Information for our Families
Food aid for Texans: Texas families now have until Aug. 21 to apply for the Pandemic EBT card, which pays $285 for each student who received free and reduced-price meals. The federal benefit for lower-income students is intended to fill the gap caused when schools shut down in the spring because of the pandemic. The deadline had previously been extended from the end of June to the end of July. Food policy advocates said these extensions are necessary to give more time to the families of about 800,000 eligible Texas children who have yet to apply for the federal program.
