Laptops are Coming January 30 -31

Bellaire High School will participate in the pilot program for the districtwide initiative called PowerUp. This initiative will transform how teachers teach and how students learn at HISD schools. PowerUp will empower HISD students to become drivers of their own learning and will connect them with resources, people, ideas, and opportunities far beyond the four walls of the classroom. For HISD teachers, the initiative will allow them to create more effective, engaging instruction that can be tailored to the needs and interests of students.

Things you need to know to receive a student laptop.

  • A Student Laptop Loan Agreement must be signed and returned. The student’s ID number must be included on the form. Download a form here.
  • Parents/guardians are required to pay a cash, non-refundable deposit of $25. This deposit should accompany the Student’s Laptop Agreement form.

Students must turn in their Student Laptop Loan Agreement form and their $25 CASH fee to the Main Office at lunch or after school by Monday, January 27th to receive their laptop on January 30-31. Students may continue to turn in the forms and deposit after January 24th, but their laptops will be distributed after January 31st. Students will be issued a receipt at the time they submit their fee and loan agreement.

We encourage all students to take care of the items above immediately.

  • In addition to the above requirements students must also complete a Digital Citizenship Class that will be provided during a school day. Students will also be given instructions on creating an account in Office 365.
