Portugal is located in southwest Europe bordering the Atlantic Ocean west of Spain. It is slightly smaller that Indiana. The geography in Portugal is mountains north of the Tagus river and rolling plains in the south.
Portugal was not a founder of the EU. Portugal later joined the EU in 1986.
Portugal has many tourist attractions including sandy white beaches, mountain ranges and valleys to explore, and festivals and concerts.
This is the flag of Portugal. The green strip represents hope and the red strip represents a tribute to the courage of fallen pourtugese defenders in combat.
In Portugal they use Euros. Before euros they used escudos.
The capital of Portugal is Lisbon. Some other cities are Porto, Braga, Setúbal, and Coimbra.
Portugal was never part of another country but they did take over Brazil and some African colonies.
Portugal has a republic. They have 3 branch s of government like us.
