Colonel Gail Halvorsen
Gail Halvorsen was a young man in his twenties when World War II ended. As soon as the war was over, the United States began to help their former enemies in East Germany who needed food, clothing and heat. The Berlin Airlift, as it became known, continues to impact people today.
