Bourchier Mail
School Newsletter - 6th Edition - 28th April 2022
from the principal
Dear Families
Welcome to term 2.
We have all settled in really well and it is obvious that our children are happy to be back.
As you are all aware COVID is still around and we need to be conscious of keeping everyone safe and healthy. Extra cleaning is still occurring along with many COVID safe practices. Please ensure your child stays home if they are unwell. More RAT kits will be distributed today as we are still encouraging RAT testing twice a week for at least the next 4 weeks.
If you child tests positive you need to let the school know and record it on this portal.
Being at school everyday is really important for continuation of learning as well as for connecting with peers to maintain friendships. It would be fantastic to see everyone at school on time every day. I encourage families to try really hard to make this happen.
We are coming into cooler weather so please ensure jackets etc. are named. We have a huge number of items in our last property so if you are missing something please get your child to check with Mr Poole in our lost property storage.
We are all looking forward to our FUN Run next Thursday down at the lake. It will be great to see families out and about. If you choose to attend please be COVID safe by social distancing.
We are looking forward to lots of great learning this term. Reading at home with your child will help in so many ways. Please spend sometime each night reading with your child, reading to your child and listening to them read to you by themselves.
Mothers’ day is next week so I would like to wish all mothers a very happy day. You are all fantastic!
Regards
Denise

Greater Shepparton Secondary College virtual tour
If you haven’t had a chance to visit Greater Shepparton Secondary College, scan the QR code and enjoy this virtual tour. Parents and students, particularly Year 6 students intending to go to GSSC, can click on classrooms, the gymnasium, theatrette and a range of other specialist learning areas. The drone footage and school grounds really show off the college’s features and the size of the central courtyard, which is as big as Federation Square. Scan the QR code with your smartphone and for each image, just move your cursor up, down and around to enjoy this “walk-through” of GSSC.
There will be a link on the website shortly for you to book an onsite tour which will run between 2nd and 11th of May 2022.

We will be holding the School Fun Run as a major fundraising event this year on
THURSDAY 5th MAY! Parents welcome down at Victoria Park Lake from 1pm to 2.30pm!
We’re doing it to raise much needed money for the continued redevelopment of our School Yards. This will include more synthetic turf throughout playing areas, sails for shade and development of new outdoor learning spaces.
About the Program
The School Fun Run is all about Fun! Your children will get to come on the day and run with their fellow classmates, friends and students... sometimes even the teachers get involved! This will be one of the most exciting days on our school’s calendar, with everyone’s participation the aim, so please make sure they attend on the day and cheer the other kids on!
How Does My Child Fundraise?
Firstly, go to schoolfunrun.com.au and create a student profile page. Everything to do with your fundraising revolves around this page.
Students who raise just $10 will be able to choose a prize! The more they raise, the better their reward – don’t forget to check these out in the sponsorship form! We have educated students on the dangers of door knocking without adult supervision, and we encourage you to reiterate this at home. The great thing about online fundraising is that you can share the link to your child’s profile with friends and family via email, SMS and Social media.
Online Fundraising
The easiest way to help your child raise money is through online fundraising, where students raise an average of $120. On top of raising more money, it’s also safer and easier than doorknocking and you don’t have to worry about handling money! To start fundraising online, go to your student profile page at schoolfunrun.com.au and share your online fundraising link.
Competition Time
To get our event off to a flyer, we’re starting our Fun Run with a super easy competition! The class with the most online profiles registered by Wednesday 6th APRIL will win a class party! To help your child’s class win, simply create your profile at schoolfunrun.com.au
Ordering Prizes – ALL PRIZES MUST BE ORDERED ONLINE
Please contact your school’s coordinator if this isn’t possible.
Prizes MUST be ordered between the FRIDAY MAY 13th and FRIDAY MAY 20th. Simply visit schoolfunrun.com.au to create / log into your Profile Page between these dates. Then click on the ‘CLAIM YOUR PRIZE’ button and follow the prompts. If you have any questions, please contact the School Fun-Run team on 1800 FUN RUN and they will gladly assist!
Thank you, good luck and happy fundraising!
