THOUGHTS FOR THE WEEK
Our first frost has arrived so be sure to "bundle up" this week!
As a follow-up to our lesson on formative assessment, here are a few links from the Teaching Channel featuring quick videos on a variety of formative assessment strategies.
Daily Assessment with Tiered Exit Cards (only 5 minutes)
One way to do daily assessment of your students is with Tiered Exit Cards. This allows teachers to provide quick and effective reteaching for the next day. This strategy offers immediate feedback to students and differentiated support.
Self-Assessment and Peer Support (only 4 minutes)
Self assessment and peer support has become a proven technique for teaching students across all grades and all subjects. Watch a video on how this technique is implemented in one classroom so you can learn how to incorporate peer teaching and self assessment in yours.
Have a great week!
