Leadership that Inspires Growth
LISD Professional Development Center
K-8 General/Special Education Teachers and Admistrators
This session is open to all educators at all levels (classroom, administrative, and central office). Administrators are encouraged to invite teacher-leaders to attend with them!
The presenter, Lynn Bigelman, has been an educator for over 20 years, serving as classroom teacher, reading specialist, and, for the past 14 years, an elementary school principal in Waterford. Lynn and Debra S. Peterson are co-authors of the upcoming book, "No More Reading Instruction Without Differentiation," which is part of the "Do This, Not That" series edited by Dr. Nell Duke and Ellin Oliver Keene.
Lynn and her staff were featured in Richard Allington's book, "No More Summer Reading Loss," for her innovative, yet simple approach to stopping the summer achievement slide in reading.
Lynn is blessed with a leadership style that inspires students and educators to seek that which is most engaging, innovative, and authentic. Administrators and school leaders will be inspired to reflect upon their own school culture, challenged to address the concepts of what, why, and how decisions are made both at the system and classroom level.
Cost: Free for Lenawee educators/$35 for all others
