1:30 to 2:55 PM - IP FAMILY QUILT CRAFT WORKSHOP (ALL FAMILIES)

Your Felt Quilt Kit... delivered!

We look forward to working on this community project with you! This is an easy, no-sew project that you can do as a family. We will start the project together this Sunday before Community Assembly! All families who registered students for the 2020-2021 should receive a Family Quilt Square Kit in the mail this week!

Gather Supplies & Materials Needed:

  • Print out this worksheet before the workshop

  • Crayons, pencils or markers

  • Family Quilt Square Kit (mailed to your home, it includes a fleece quilt square, 6 pcs bright colored felt, plus small pieces felt in neutral colors)

  • Scissors

  • Tape (to hold things down temporarily)

  • Fabric marker, ballpoint pen, or felt-tip marker

  • Glue (school, fabric, tacky, or hot types work fine)

  • Embellishments (optional): Use what you already have at home, like ribbon, yarn, sequins, pom poms, etc.

If you do not receive your kit in time, you can get started with a square piece of felt for the background (8x8 inches max) plus additional felt to make your picture in bright and neutral colors.

Completed squares should be mailed back by our next IP session on April 11, 2021.

If you want to OPT OUT of this project, please mail it back, so that we can offer it to families in the IP community who have not registered students for this year.

3:00 to 3:15 pm - COMMUNITY ASSEMBLY (All families)

3:20 - 4:45 pm - UPPER SCHOOL LUTUAN (ALL FAMILIES WELCOME)

Buchi is a Filipino treat made of glutinous rice stuffed with a sweet filling, rolled in sesame seeds, and fried into golden brown goodness. Crunchy on the outside, chewy and sweet on the inside. This fried dim sum originated from China and is called Jian Dui. In the US, this is commonly known as sesame balls.

Turon is also called deep-fried banana rolls or banana lumpia.

For Class:

Ingrediens should be ready for the Lutuan Class for March 28. Parents should be on hand to assist as needed, with use of knives, stove and in completing the dish.

Families are encouraged to JOIN the class!
