FLU Reminders from the Platte County Health Department
- Promote regular hand washing among children particularly after handling used tissues or using the restroom and before eating or preparing food. Hand washing is the best way to prevent the spread of communicable disease!
- Keep your children home from school if they have a fever, diarrhea, or vomiting, until at least 24 hours after symptoms end.
- Perform routine cleaning and disinfection of frequently touched environmental surfaces and equipment as well as high-traffic areas: Frequently touched surfaces include, but are not limited to, commodes, toilets, faucets, hand railing, telephones, door handles, computer equipment, and kitchen preparation surfaces.
- After throwing up or having diarrhea, immediately clean and disinfect contaminated surfaces.
- Use a chlorine bleach solution to clean and disinfect surfaces. (Up to 3 times per day)
Yearbooks
Yearbook order forms have been sent home. Please order by March 2nd. A standard yearbook is $22.00. If you would like to add a current events sections to the yearbook, the cost is $25.00. Please contact the office if you have questions.
Car Rider Reminders
Car riders can enter the building at 7:15. Please do not drop students off before 7:15. Due to the cold weather it is even more important to keep the line moving quickly.

Don't forget about the dances we have planned this weekend! Our 5th/6th grade dance is scheduled for Friday, January 19th from 6:30-8:30 and the 7th/8th grade dance is scheduled for Saturday, January 20th from 6:30-8:30. Both dances will be held at Barry. A flyer with more details was sent out last week.
