Annual Food Drive - "Stuff the Bus to Stock the Pantry!"
Dr. Heidi Podjasek, our Director of Social Emotional Learning, is coordinating the Kendall County Community Food Pantry. November 6th is the "Grand Opening" of the Food Pantry! We will be conducting a Food Drive between October 12th and November 6th. We hope you're willing to help! Let's win those bragging rights!
The Food Drive will be run two ways:
Monetary Donations:
Monetary donations will be taken from October 12th through November 6th. For every $1 collected, the food pantry can purchase $8 worth of food. For the competition between schools, each dollar donated accounts for 8 items. Monetary donations can be made here: Kendall County Community Food Pantry
Collected Food Items:
Food items will be collected at each school from October 19th through October 28th. A bus will be parked at Murphy during certain times each day. Parents/students/staff can drop off items at the bus. Items will be accounted for and stored at the transportation department until we are able to deliver them to the pantry. The days/times are as follows:
- Monday October 19th, Thursday October 22nd, and Monday October 26th: 6:00 am - 11:00 am
- Tuesday, October 20th, Friday October 23d, and Tuesday October 27th: 11:00 am - 4:00 pm
- Wednesday October 21st and Wednesday October 28th: 2:00 pm - 7:00 pm

Oswego Public Library Digital Access
We have some very exciting news about a new partnership we have with the Oswego Public Library District! This partnership has been created to give all students in SD308 access to the digital resources available through our public library. Some of our SD308 students don't live within the boundaries of the library district, so they have not had access in the past. In addition, many of those that do reside within the library district boundaries, do not have cards, or have misplaced their cards so they no longer have access. This new partnership will give all students access to the amazing resources our public library has to offer! There are so many great databases and ebooks that students may use for research, homework, classwork and personal enjoyment.
Click on the Documents below for more information and the Google Form to complete for access.
Want an Oswego Public Library Card?
The launch of our Ecard barcodes has gone so well! We’re now ready to start Phase 2 of our partnership, which is getting an actual physical card into the hands of every kid in SD308!
The Ecard barcode that you received from your school librarian will not allow you to check out actual physical materials, but...getting a card is easy!
Just visit either campus of the library and show them your driver’s license or state ID. This is all you need if your ID has your current address on it.
If your ID does not have your current address, then please bring one of the following items as proof of residency:
*Utility bill dated within 60 days (electronic version accepted)
*Rent receipt dated within 60 days
*Mortgage documents
*Vehicle Registration
*Checking account
*Bank Statement
*FOID card
*Lease
** Please note that handwritten letters will not be accepted as proof of residency.**
***IMPORTANT NOTE: If you are not a resident of the library district, but you are still a student in the 308 school district, you may still receive a STUDENT card (with an expiration date of June 1, 2021) which will allow you to check out up to 20 items at a time. Simply visit the circulation desk of either campus with a parent or guardian with an ID.***
Did you know that the public library has more than just books? Perhaps you’d like to listen to some new music, or watch a new movie? Maybe you’d like to start a book club with your friends or neighbors? Are you looking for STEAM activities to do with your children or your scout troop? The public library has everything you need!
We encourage you to explore the library website, or visit either campus in person, to learn more! Click on the link below to visit the website.

Technology Update on Device Pick-Up
The district will have office hours for parents to pick up a device from the District Administration Center located at Door 1. Our hours will be Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday from 10 am - 2 pm.
If you have any questions about this process, please visit the website, click on Parents in the main navigation, and then click on Student and Parent Technology Support. This will generate a ticket in our new HELP ticket system.
Go Live!, Grading, and Email Reminders
Attention students!...remember, your classes may end at 1:55 pm, but your school day ends at 3:00 pm. Student Support time is built into the day so you can make appointments to speak with your teachers about classwork, assessments, homework, or to ask questions about content. Your teachers may schedule a time to meet with you during student support time to assist with bringing up grades, assist with homework, or to run small groups of students. If you are scheduled to attend student support time, you need to attend. The expectation is that you are available until 3:00 pm for the opportunity to complete work or to receive or ask for support from your teachers.
Grades:
Keep checking grades and work with your teachers to ensure you have all assignments turned in. If you need help...attend student support time!
Student Emails:
Take some time over the weekend or next week to sort through your student emails. Delete what needs to be deleted, and keep what you need to hang on to. Keeping up on this will help to keep you organized and in touch with your teachers if needed.
