Kingsley Connection
A weekly newsletter from the Kingsley Administrative Team...
January 8, 2022
It was a wonderful week as the energy of our students filled the Kingsley hallways to start off 2022. Winter benchmarking (MAP and Aimsweb) began this week and will continue throughout January.
Please remind your children to dress warm. Morning arrival and outdoor recess will remain outside unless the "real feel" temperature is below zero degrees. The temperature this week fluctuated often. Recess in the morning may have been indoors when recess in the afternoon may have been outdoors. Please know this is all due to the timing of recess and temperature at that given time. Our priority remains to get kids outdoors as much as possible.
Don't forget we are back to early dismissal on Monday!
Have a great weekend,
Mel Hackett and Eleni Gajewski

REPEAT INFORMATION: Registration NOW Open!
The Reading Games Registration is open now through January 14, 2022!
The Reading Games is a fun reading competition for District 58 students in grades 3-8. Students read books from the book lists, then face other teams to answer questions about the books they've read. It is a great opportunity for kids to read new books and discuss them with friends. Teams are made up of 5-8 students, and may include students from different grades and schools. However, due to space limitations, participation in the Reading Games is limited only to DG58 students. Teams will read books, and be asked questions, from Book List 1 (3rd-4th grades) or Book List 2 (5th-8th grades).
Team Registration
Completing this form reserves a spot for your team to compete on Saturday, April 23, 2022. You do not need to identify the students that will be on your team for this registration, so there is time to finalize the team members. In February or March 2022, you will be asked to provide a team name and the contact information for a team volunteer (16 yrs.+) to participate in one of many roles to run the event.
2022 Reading Games: Team Registration Form
Individual Registration
If you have a child who would like to participate but does not have a team, you may request a spot using the individual registration form. Individual student registration closes on January 14, 2022. Although we cannot guarantee a spot on a team, we will do our very best to match children to existing teams, or to assist you in creating a new team, by February 1, 2022.
