Information from the GHS Counseling Dept. May 2021

College Visits

Summer can be a great time to visit and tour college campuses. If you are going on a family trip, check out colleges on your way and at your destination! Here is a campus tour checklist. Most campus visits can be arranged by contacting the admissions office or on their website. Many colleges are opening up for tours but it is a good idea to call ahead.

Virtual visits is another way to get information about colleges. We have many virtual tours on our website and many are available in Naviance under Colleges. Have fun!

Senior Final Transcripts

Final transcripts for seniors will be sent to the college that was marked "attending" in the Class of 2021 Senior Survey in Naviance. Transcripts will be sent within two weeks after school ends. If your plans change, contact Mrs. Rieck in the counseling office.

Community Service

Summer is a great time for students to do community service. New opportunities are posted in the Community Service course located on all students' Canvas dashboard. Students can also submit volunteer hours in Canvas that are not posted through GHS and they will be entered into Skyward.

Mrs. Gwen Feldbruegge (Welcome Desk Assistant) coordinates the program and can be reached at or 262-376-5508. If you belong to or know of an area organization that is in need of volunteers, please contact Mrs. Feldbruegge. If you have any other questions, please contact your school counselor.

Summer Jobs

Area businesses are sending "help wanted" information to the GHS Counseling Office. The jobs are posted on the Black Hawk Communications message board between the counseling office and the cafeteria.

Summer Learning/Pre-College Opportunities

There are many opportunities for summer career and pre-college programs found on the GHS Counseling Website. Some deadlines are fast approaching!

Get Pumped For Scholarships

You can now support local scholarships for GHS students by getting your gas at the Citgo on Hwy. 60 & Port Washington Road. Look for the GCSF/GHS logo on pump #1 and Citgo will donate 10 cents from each gallon of gas purchased to the Grafton Community Scholarship Fund!

GCSF has awarded over $525,000 in scholarships to students pursuing higher education in both technical and four-year college programs. The scholarships are supported from generous donations from community members. Please contact Kelly Rieck, 262-376-5523 if you have any questions about donating or are interested in joining the GCSF committee.

There are three ways to donate to GCSF:

1. Mail a check to: GCSF, Inc., P.O. Box 468, Grafton, WI, 53024

2. Drop off a donation to the high school specifying GCSF

3. PayPal (see photo)
