For safety purposes, items brought on the bus must be able to be held on a student's lap. For items that do not fit this requirement, parents/guardians must transport them to and from school. These items may include:

  • Over-sized athletic equipment/bags
  • Large band instruments
  • School projects that cannot fit on a student's lap

Thank you for helping to support safe transportation of our students!

Chick-fil-a biscuits will be sold every Thursday morning in the bus lane and carline. The cost is $4.00 - while supplies last and cash only.

Our 7th grade students will be reading the novel The Outsiders, by S.E. Hinton in October. This novel pairs with the upcoming unit, Generations. The novel and unit address the standards RL 1, RL 2, RL 6. We have copies of the novel for students to check out. Some students may prefer having their own copy to annotate. If you would like the option of purchasing a personal copy of The Outsiders, they are available on My Payments Plus for $8.00 from September 6th- September 23rd while supplies last.

North United is hosting an Internet Safety Night on October 6 at North Forsyth High School. We will serve a free dinner from Giorgio’s starting at 5:30 P.M. and the speakers will start at 6:15 P.M. Our keynote speaker will be Doug Crawford from Protect Young Eyes, and his focus will be the digital nature of kids. Two years ago, Protect Young Eyes spoke to our community and the feedback was excellent. We also have three excellent breakout speakers lined up:

  • Detective Renee Mittenmeyer from the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Department Internet Crimes Against Children team
  • Todd Shirley from the School Safety Department
  • Sgt. Brain Chatham from the Forsyth County Narcotics Division and Johns Creek/Forsyth Drug Task Force

We are kindly asking attendees to RSVP so that we can plan food and child care accordingly. Please click HERE to let us know how many from your family will be attending.

Is a Liberty staff member making a positive impact on your student? Please shout them out HERE. Positive words of affirmation from our community mean so much to us!

Last month, ten parents took the time to recognize a Liberty staff member; please help us grow that number for September as we wrap up the month this week.

Our 28-day Virtual Fitness iChallenge, October 3-31, is open to students, teachers/staff, families, and community members. Participants are encouraged to walk, run, bike, hike, waddle, and/or complete other fitness activities to create healthy habits. Click here to watch a video about the Dr. Jim and Peggie Morrow iChallenge!

Funds raised by the Forsyth County Education Foundation will be used for staff scholarships for current paraprofessionals (teacher assistants) who wish to advance to a teaching position and teachers who wish to move to a school counselor role. As you may know, our profession is experiencing a significant teacher & counselor shortage, so this is a great cause to help keep quality professionals in our schools.

Registration: $10 for students/ $20 for adults

All registrations are tax deductible.

The first 1,700 receive a cooling headband, and winners receive additional prizes.

Please help support our September Membership Drive! The grade level team with the highest percentage of PTSO memberships by midnight on September 19 will win a donut party. Click HERE for membership information and sign-up.

Our PTSO has put together a wishlist of items for teachers. You can access it HERE if you would like to contribute.

Birthday locker decorations are an easy way to celebrate your student's special day, while also supporting our PTSO. Click HERE for more information.

Are you interested in volunteering some of your time to mentoring? Currently, there is a waiting list of mentees at each school in need of mentors.

How do you become a mentor? Becoming a mentor requires attending one two-hour training session, completing an application and a background check. Becoming a mentor also involves committing to spending 30 minutes per week during school hours with a student for the school year and, hopefully, the following year. We need individuals, businesses, church organizations, and community members to become involved in the mentoring program. To see how mentoring has impacted one student's life, click here.

How to Become a Community Mentor

  1. Complete the Forsyth County Schools Mentor Application
  2. Attend one training session (Register for training date/time in Mentor Application).

Upcoming Training Sessions:

Tuesday, September 13, 2022, 6:00-8:00pm

Academies of Creative Education (1160 Dahlonega Highway Cumming, GA 30040)

Tuesday, October 18, 2022, 6:00-8:00pm

COVID-19 Guidance

Please be aware of the district's latest guidance for Covid-19 reporting and quarantining.

All positive cases need to be reported to the school nurse by email or phone call.

For positive cases, a person may return to school/work on day 6 (with day zero being symptom date) after completing 5 days of isolation as long as they meet the following:

  • Must be fever free for the last 24-hour period without the use of fever-reducing medications
  • Other symptoms have also improved (cough/shortness of breath)

The five-day count will be based on the date of symptom onset or date of their positive test if asymptomatic. If students/staff are able to return after the 5-day period, it is encouraged that they mask up for an additional 5-day period.

For more information, please visit the FCS Covid-19 Guidance webpage.

Please reach out to any administrator or Nurse Sommer @ 770-781-4889 ext 290120 if you have questions! We are here to help!
