What you need to survive
Survival kit materials
Carry these things in your backpack
- a small mirror to reflect light to start a fire or get the attention of a hellicopter
- fishing line and hooks to fish or use the line to help build shelter
- dry socks because trench foot is a great possibility
- brightly colored poncho to shield rain and attract attention
- waterproof matches in a plastic bag if it rains
- small knife to cut animals for food or rope to make a shelter
- a loud whistle to signal for help
- a metal container/coffee can to hold water or keep things dry inside
- emergency blanket to keep you warm at night
- a compass and map of where youre going
- a crank flashlight to have light when its dark
- water purification tablets incase you can't boil the water to sanitize it
- a sewing kit to possibly sew up a wound
- tea bags, granola bars, instant soup and other simple foods to eat

A trusty compass can help you if you know which direction you're supposed to go in.

Can be used to reflect the light to signal a airplane and helicopter passing by
Dry Socks
You don't want to risk trench foot. Whenever your socks get wet, you should change them.
Always have a first aid kit
This kit should include:
- Antibiotic ointment
- Cotton swabs and balls
- Gauze pads
- Adhesive tape
- Safety pins
- Scissors and tweezers
- Hand sanitizer
- Saline solution
- Aloe Vera gel
- Bandages
