LVMS Alternative Fundraiser as begun...
This is the last week of our LVMS fundraiser. Your support is very much appreciated. 100% of your donations go directly to LVMS!!! The student incentives are an ice cream coupon and the opportunity to select the music we listen to on Fridays. The fundraiser ends Friday, October 7th. As of today the 6th grade has the most money turned in.
What does LVMS do with your donations?
Our plans for this years funds will be to buy breakfast for students on STAAR test days, further LVMS campus beautification projects (replanting the flower beds, creating a flower bed in front of the school opposite the existing one, and potentially repainting additional areas of the campus), Capturing Kids’ Hearts teacher training ($750 per teacher), and cover the front windows of the school with VIKINGS window film. We would also like to purchase additional picnic tables for outside the cafeteria this year. Thank you for your support of Lago Vista Middle School!
100% of your donations go directly to LVMS!!!
G/T Referral information...
Referrals for Fall G/T Screening are Due October 3rd!
Please return referral forms to the front office by Monday, October 3rd. There is a separate screening process for kindergarten, so referrals are not needed for students who are current in kindergarten. For more information, please visit http://www.lagovistaisd.net/default.aspx?name=curr.ins_GT.
Counselor's Couch...
I frequently grade conference with the students and help them to make a plan to get their work completed and turned in on time. I can also help them with organizational strategies and help them to get their folders and backpacks in order. Our goal is to help them be responsible and maintain good study and work habits as they progress through their academic career. If your student needs any assistance, I am here to listen to their concerns and available to help them be successful.
Remember that you can check grades in TxConnect and you can grade conference with your student at home. Here is the link to the Lago Vista ISD Parent Resources Page.

How to get involved at LVMS...
Four years ago when I became the principal of Lago Vista Middle School, one of our goals was to reinstitute our PTO. With the help a small group of women we were able to do so. Our PTO is a small, but very important to our success at LVMS. Here is where you come in........ We need you to get involved in our PTO! There is a meet and greet informational gathering October 4th from 6-7 in Viking Hall. Food and drinks will be provided. Please come out and meet our amazing officers and find out how you can get involved! I really hope to see you there. We need you!! Your kids will benefit from it!
Volleyball (Coach Holt & Coach Moeller)
7th grade (Coach Holt)
The Lady Vikings volleyball teams faced Blanco in a district match up this past Monday here on our home court.
The 7th grade B team battled but fell short, losing game one 25-19, winning game two 25-22, then losing the third game in a best of three match up 15-11. Leading servers for the night were Rhyan Stuhr with 10, Kat Leza with 4, and Cailey Nuckolls with 3. The team's record is 1-2.
The 7th grade A team beat the Panthers decisively in two games, 25-13, 25-18. Leading servers were Sarah Long with 11 in the first match and Lorelee Felix with 7 in the second match. Our defensive game was strong and we had several athletes contribute in our passing efforts. In the first game we had Klarisa Polikaitis lead the way with 10 passes, followed by Sarah Long and Lili Navarro with 9 apiece. Makenna Walker added 8 more. In the second game we had Morgan Moreland contribute 12 passes, Taylor Nuckolls add 11, and Lorelee contribute 10 passes. The excellent passing effort made way for our setters. In the first game Klarissa with 6 and Makenna with 3, second game Sarah and Lorelee each with 7 to set up our hitters. First game Emma Vincent with 3 kills and Sarah and Makenna each adding one. In the second game the dynamic duo of Lorelee setting and Sarah hitting was unstoppable, with 4 kills. Taylor, Gina, Lorelee and Emma each added 2 kills to the total. This win brings their record to 4-1.
The girls are playing well, working hard and having fun, and getting better every day! Thank you to the parents and fans for your continued support of our Lady Vikings! We appreciate you!
8th grade (Coach Moeller)
The Lady Viking 8th grade volleyball team hosted Blanco on Monday.
The 8th grade Blue team handled the (insert mascot here) pretty easily in 2 sets to remain undefeated on the season! The libero, Madi Jackson, led the team in passes with 5. Avery Nichols contributed to the win with 4 perfect passes. Josey Kannamacher served the ball well and Kyle Dixon served 7 in a row in the last set to lead us to victory. The scores were consistent with Lago winning 25-16 in the 1st set and 25-15 in the 2nd set. The Blue team has been practicing hard and will be looking forward to returning to the floor at the Marble Falls Tournament on Saturday the 22nd.
The 8th grade Gold team fell to Blanco in a 3 set battle. Lago easily won the 1st set, 25-16, headed up by 3 aces from Haylee Horn, Payton Marzsal, and Esther Long. Blanco dominated serves in the 2nd and 3rd set and passing the serve proved to be a real challenge for Lago Vista. Katelyn Coldicott had 6 passes in the 2nd set to the setter Esther Long who made 10/14 perfect sets to the hitters. The 2nd set ended 25-15, Blanco. In the 3rd set, the Gold team lessened an 8 point gap with help from Grace Rohne who served 4 points in a row to bring us back within 2 points. Blanco ended up winning the set and the night, 25-20. Lago is starting to find their rhythm with hits and kills: Ary Wallace, Haylee Horn, Grace Rohne, Katelyn Coldicott, and Jade Press all contributed as least 1 kill point for the night.
Haylee Horn led the team in serving with 9, Esther Long and Payton Marzsal led the team with a combined 22 passes, and Ary Wallace led the team in kills with 5.
The 3-2 Gold team will face Gateway on Monday. Come out to support us!
