Counseling Connection

Scales Elementary School

What an exciting semester thus far!

  • In January, our K-2 students enjoyed visits from Kids on the Block. Then, in February, our 2nd graders welcomed Amy Burgess, from Mental Health America of Middle Tennessee. She spoke to the importance of Mental Health and developing healthy friendships.
  • Girls Night with our 3rd-5th graders was a huge success. We received excellent feedback and hope that this event will help foster further conversations both at school and home.
  • We have also enjoyed connecting with you at our Coffee with the Counselors. Please save the date for Friday, March 31st, as we discuss Internet Safety. To RSVP: https://goo.gl/forms/naLPN21wNZgN2aBM2

We so appreciate your support as we continue to expand our programming. Have a restful and enjoyable Spring Break!

March Madness!

In classroom guidance this month, our focus is college and career readiness. We encourage you to engage in conversations with your students regarding their interests and the opportunities that exist within the world of work.

Also, as we enter testing season, our 3rd and 4th graders will have their first experience with TCAP. While many teachers are already reviewing strategies, Mrs. Coyle will be reinforcing those test-taking strategies, introducing keys for success, and providing encouragement in her upcoming lessons with Grades 3-5.
