Welcome to Anderson-Shiro!
Help us welcome our new staff to the A-S Owl Family!
Stacey Zielonka
I am honored and excited to join the Anderson-Shiro ISD family as the new Elementary Principal. I am proud to call Anderson home! I grew up here attending school at this very campus! After high school, I headed to Texas A&M University graduating in 1998...WHOOP! I continued there and received a Master’s degree in Education Administration.
This is the start of my 19th year in education. My career began in Magnolia ISD where I served as an elementary teacher, district elementary curriculum specialist, assistant principal and elementary principal. I joined Region 6 Education Service Center three years ago as the Leadership, Learning & Accountability Director helping districts across the region. I am extremely excited to get back with students at AES.
My family has been my biggest cheerleader throughout my journey in education. My husband Jason and I live here in Anderson with our 4 children. Colton will be a senior this coming school year! Hope and Hudson will be entering 4th grade and Claire Bear is only three years old so we’ve got another year before she becomes an owl.
I'm honored to be back home, a place that I will forever cherish and pray our students will truly feel what it means to be an Anderson-Shiro OWL!
Troy Wawarofsky
I attended Texas A&M University where I graduated with a Bachelors of Business Administration in Management.
My wife Megan and I have 4 children. Madelyn, who recently graduated and will be attending Texas A&M University in the fall, Emma, will be a sophomore, Hannah, will be a Freshman, and Jack, will be in 4th grade.
I worked for the Texas Department of Transportation as an Assistant Supervisor in Roadway Construction for 20 years. After having our daughter, Emma, I decided to make a career change and soon pursued my alternative teacher certification. Emma was born with a genetic syndrome called 22q deletion. Among other things this syndrome causes Emma to have a learning disability. Emma has been blessed with amazing teachers that never made her feel she was different and always pushed her to do her very best. This is why I became a teacher. I want to make a difference and help students realize that they can accomplish anything they set their minds to. Before coming to Anderson-Shiro Elementary, I taught Math and Science in the Life Skills setting at Brenham Junior High.
My goal is to build upon the knowledge my students already have in Math, and prepare them for what they will need to know for junior high school, and hopefully have some fun with learning along the way. I’m looking forward to having an amazing year. Please feel free to contact me at any time with any questions or concerns that you might have.
Julie Davis
Julie Davis has always had a passion for teaching. She received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Sam Houston State University with a major in Dance and a minor in History. Immediately after graduation, she began work on her Master of Fine Arts degree in Dance, also at SHSU. As a graduate student, she received a Teaching Fellowship and enjoyed growing her skills as an educator. For the next five years, Ms Davis sought any opportunity to teach. She taught at Houston Community College as an adjunct professor and at various dance studios around Houston before starting her own dance program with Discover Gymnastics. After the life-changing event of having triplets, she also changed careers and pursued a Teaching Certificate. Ms. Davis worked in Conroe Independent School District building her skills, tutoring, and clinical teaching before becoming a First Grade teacher in a private school. Another life-changing event has moved her family to Anderson, Texas. Ms. Davis enjoyed her time last year, getting to know the district, faculty, and students as a substitute for all grade levels in the elementary school of ASCISD. She is excited to begin the 2021-2022 school year in the First Grade team and looks forward to becoming better acquainted with her students and the community.
Jeffrey Dover
My name is Jeffrey Dover I am a first-year teacher I graduated from A&M with a bachelor of science in agriculture I come from the small town of Diboll, Texas where in high school I was an active 4-H and FFA member. I was an officer for 2 years in 4-H and 3 years in FFA. While in FFA and 4-H I showed goats, woodworking projects, and baked goods as well. As I was growing up I spent a lot of time on my grandfather's farm where he raised goats as well as my uncle's farm where he raised cattle. This afforded me quite a bit of time to become familiar with the agricultural industry from working with animals to learning the mechanics of farm equipment. I also have experience in the automotive industry from electrical to mechanical. My passions are anything to do with the Ag field. My interests range from working with animals to the mechanical side as well.

I have a Bachelor's of Business Administration - Marketing from East Texas Baptist University, and I received my educator's certification from LeTourneau University in Longview, Texas. For the past 6 years, I was a Bryan High School Viking, where I taught business classes for 1 year and then moved into the health sciences academy. I had an EMT-Basic program, as I am an EMT-Intermediate and EMS Instructor, and I was a volunteer firefighter for several years. But enough of that stuff...

In my personal time, I am a 'waterbug'. I love swimming, boating, fishing, and anything else that allows me to be in or near the water. I am also an audiophile (lover of music). I love the Texas singer/songwriter scene and help artists promote new singles, albums, and shows or festivals. I also love cooking and baking, mostly Italian food and desserts.
