Wayne RESA GSRP School Readiness Advisory Committee Nominations
The SRAC, or School Readiness Advisory Committee, is a workgroup that operates within the local Great Start Collaborative (GSC). Its main purpose is to enhance school readiness for all children within the community. The aim is to ensure that children are prepared for kindergarten ready and aligned with their peers no matter their preschool experience. This is achieved through the participation of classroom teachers, families of program participants, and relevant community, volunteer, and social service agencies. These stakeholders make recommendations to the Great Start Collaborative regarding GSRP and other community services. The ECC, or their designee, must be an active participant in the SRAC. The GSRP Implementation Manual has more details about this initiative.
Wayne RESA is seeking nominations for two GSRP teachers and two current GSRP family members to join the SRAC for the 23/24 school year.

What do you value as a teacher of young children? Our values fundamentally shape our interactions with young children, as well as our expectations of their learning. Five core values, grounded in evidence from research, supported the development of the Essential Instructional Practices in Early Mathematics: Prekindergarten to Grade 3. These Essentials seek to promote high-quality, equitable teaching and learning for young children in the discipline of mathematics. In this professional learning, we will dive deeper into aligning our practices with the five core values to ensure all children are receiving high-quality math instruction throughout the day.
