Weekly Update

Strive Center for Autism

FULL DAYS JUNE 29TH

We are working toward a plan to offer full day therapy beginning on June 29th! That will hit our goal of full days before July 6th, and we believe the kids are ready. Please keep in mind that if your child's program is authorized for half days, your child will continue to attend half days. For those who have been authorized for full days, we can work with you on the best fit for your family - if you're not ready for full days on June 29th, please speak to your BCBA and we'll work with you. We are so excited to begin expanding our days!

When your child begins attending full days, please remember to send lunch in a brown paper bag daily. We will seat the children at least 6 feet apart while they eat, and of course, tables will be wiped before and after eating, and hands will be washed (staff and children!)

Also, when we begin full days, we will plan to end therapy on Fridays at 11:30 am for children who attend full days. This will allow us time to clean toys and materials and rotate them weekly, to give the kids a fun new experience.

The week of June 29th will be a four day week, with Friday off to observe Independence Day, so it will allow the children a long weekend after their first full week to rest, if they need it. Remember, full day children will leave at 11:30 am on Thursday, July 2nd so that our staff can complete the necessary cleaning to wrap up that first week!

Water Safety

We know water safety is a big concern for our families, and with summer already here, and everyone anxious to get outside, here's a link to a short article with additional tips on water safety from Autism Speaks:

Behavior Specialist in Brighton

Please join us in congratulating Sarah Labourdeth, as she will move into the position of Behavior Specialist in Brighton. Sarah will take over as primary Behavior Specialist on Christy Wahl's cases, when Christy leaves June 26th. Sarah worked with us as Lead Therapist in Brighton for two years, then completed her student teaching this past school year as part of her Master's degree. Sarah is pursuing her certification as a BCBA, and we are so pleased to have working with us in this new position!
