Midterm and parent/teacher conferences
Can you believe we have already reached the mid-term for quarter one? Our students are working hard and in the groove of their virtual schedules. We know working with young students in the virtual environment continues to be a balancing act and we have seen amazing perserverance and are very proud of our Knights. Synchronous instructional time allows students the opportunity to work directly with his/her teacher and asynchronous assignments provide an opportunity for students to work on skills and produce independent work. Both factors are considered when teachers are collecting information for grading.
FCPS will be grading students in all subject areas, including art, PE, and music. Our staff is working to gauge student understanding towards mastery of skills in many ways. If your child's teacher has a concern regarding progress, the teacher will reach out to you to see how they can help.
Parent/teacher conferences will take place on October 21st, 22nd, and 23rd. All conferences will take place on Google Meet. Teachers will be sending out sign up information via their class distribution lists on Monday October 12th.
Thank you for continuing to partner with us in your child's education.
We also love to see your pictures of our students learning. You can share them on Twitter and tag @PrincipalMPS and include the hashtag #knightpride.
Fondly,
Sandy Fox
Principal
