What is Smallpox?
Smallpox is a deadly contagious disease that spread during the Columbian exchange. The illness causes red rashes and big and small boils on the skin and excruciating pain. It spread rapidly, killing nearly 90 percent of the population. There was no cure for the sickness at the time.
The Vaccine
Later a vaccine was created to cure smallpox. It was made vaccinia, which was another virus
The Exchange
The Columbian exchange was the trading of goods between the New and Old worlds. They exchanged things such as culture and goods like fruits and sugar cane.
How to get Smallpox
In order to get the illness you have to make person-to-person contact or saliva droplets.
