Solidarity always leads the way
Dear Families,
Thank you for celebrating Red, White, and Blue spirit wear on campus Friday. As we remember the 20th anniversary of 9/11, many of us remember leading students through that day and the days that followed, working to assure them that everything would be okay. This year, we continue that sense of solidarity as we work through our COVID-19 safety protocols. United, we make it through difficult times with greater connections and purpose. We appreciate your partnership to keep student safety our top priority in the classrooms and during drop-off and dismissal.
We have several school-based opportunities for families to connect with our campus: The final ballot for School Site Council (SSC) is available online as well as hard copies going home tomorrow; our English Learner Advisory Committee (ELAC) will meet again Wednesday to have enough participants for a quorum; our PTA is looking ahead to our first Movie Night after the terrific success of our kickball even Friday evening. Two of our staff members will be recognized at the school board meeting Monday night: Supervision Aide Raina Franco and Mrs. Wiechert as an Outstanding Project Lead the Way teacher (one of 56 in the U.S. this year!). It's a great time to be a Gladiator!
Please reach out if we can assist or answer any questions. Have a wonderful week!
Sincerely,
Dr. Newcomb
Safety during end of day/dismissal
Hello Families,
As a reminder, we must keep the red zones clear and avoid jaywalking: Thank you for supporting student/family safety!
Sailing into a smooth September--some reminders:
*Thank you for packing a water bottle each day, especially on warm days.
*Eat safely: Take time for just-right bites, and clean up your area afterwards
*Play in cohorts/with classmates to remain as safe as possible while outdoors.
*For masks: "One to wear and pack a spare."
*We always wear a mask indoors per LADPH guidelines.
*Wednesday=No Second Chance breakfast due to Minimum Day schedule: Please pack an extra snack potentially.
*Always follow The Golden Rule: Treat others the way you want to be treated.
School Site Council needs your vote!
