Liberty Early Childhood Center
December 2017
Dear Families,
December is a busy month that seems to be over before it starts. Our days are filled with lots of learning fun. As the weather turns colder and the weather reporters begin to talk about snow, we want to share some information regarding weather related school closings. School will not be in session when it is considered too dangerous for buses to travel or too cold for student safety. Decisions about school closings are made by the administration and communicated to parents via several sources, including QuickNews, the LPS Mobile App, information on the front of the district Web page, local television stations, and our social networking options Facebook and Twitter! When you see that Liberty Public Schools are closed-this includes the Early Childhood Center. Parents should keep their children home if they believe the weather conditions are too threatening or severe. We are thankful for the opportunity to share this school year with your little one!
Wishing you and your family the happiest of holidays,
Dr. Sarah Birk, Principal

Coats, Hats, Mittens and Gloves
With our colder weather, please be sure to send your child to school with coats, hats, gloves or mittens to go outside. We try to go outside everyday if the wind chill is above 20. Please be sure to label all items with your child's name. We often have many items that look similar.
If your child will be absent...
Regular attendance is important to help your child make the most of this learning year in preschool. We understand children will miss occasionally due to illness or family emergency. When this happens, please call our attendance number and either speak directly to an ECC staff member or leave a message.
To report an absence, please call 736-5324

Thank you Liberty Sertoma Club

Reminders about the Bus
- Children are NOT allowed to eat on the bus. Please be sure your child has time to eat their breakfast or lunch before you expect the bus to arrive.
- Any changes in bus transportation will require a minimum of 3 days to process. Remember, a change in your transportation address may impact your child's ability to have bus service. Since we serve the entire Liberty school district-addresses are routed either as an AM or PM attendance area.
- Make sure someone is available to meet the bus at pick-up and drop-off times. An adult must be present for the child to be released off the bus. Please see your parent handbook for additional information.
School Hours
In an effort to limit disruptions to classroom instruction and make the most of our learning time together, we ask that you please follow our hours of attendance if you are transporting your child.
