The Weightman M.E.O.W.
Monthly Events Of Wildcats: January 2019
Principals Message
I hope that all of our Wildcat families were able to rest and relax over the winter break. I always like to slow down a bit over the winter break and participate in activities that seem to get pushed aside during the school year: enjoying time with my family and remembering what my priorities are.
As we beginning the new year (and new semester), I like to take time to reflect and realign. I am very proud of TEWMS for focusing time and attention to each individual student as we have conversations around their progress, grades and goals. I am proud of the Wildcat Binder our students and teachers are using to improve organizational skills for all. I am proud of our students for taking care of one another, being compassionate and be accepting to all. I am excited to watch our students mentor one another as we embark on a student-mentor program (more information to come).
To realign our campus, we are taking the week of January 8th to revisit our Wildcat R.O.A.R. expectations with all students during study hall. These expectations are provided to all through the Wildcat Binder. Each day, students will be reminded of each aspect of the R.O.A.R. and participate in various activities. In addition, on Tuesday (1/8) students will receive second semester calendar pages for their Wildcat Binders through study hall.
Campus Activities:
Student Data Chats
Third quarter student data chats will be January 15th - 18th. This a time for students to reflect on their goals, grades, effort and behaviors from the last quarter. In addition, students will have individual conversations with a staff member to celebrate their successes, develop a goal for the current quarter, as well as identifying specific strategies to assist students in meeting their goals.

Help us improve our school's science labs by joining the PTSA. We currently have an open position for a Sponsorship chair. We are trying to drum up community sponsors to help fund our spring fundraiser. This person will help us by making calls or sending emails to community partners to share our sponsorship levels. This role is great for people with connections in the community but is not necessary! Sales experience is also a plus. Proceeds from this event will go towards improving our school's science labs. Email ptakrissy@gmail.com if you'd like more details on this position or to find out more about what's involved, and PLEASE share with a friend/neighbor that might also be interested!
