What's the Buzz?!?

"A teacher takes a hand, opens a mind, and touches a heart"
Can you believe first quarter is over already? I bet some days felt like they were never going to end and others went by super fast. I cannot tell you all enough how appreciative I am of your willingness to jump on my bandwagon and participate in all of the new things around school.
- A big thanks goes out to Denny and James for getting the computer lab up and running over the weekend! Our students are so blessed to have such a wonderful space in which to learn!
- Check out the pictures on Twitter and Instagram of our 8th graders enjoying camp Y-Noah this past week! Mrs. Ott did a wonderful job planning a fun, and spiritual, time for our students. Also, a big thank you to Mrs. Reese and Ms. Getzinger for volunteering their time!
School Sleuth- Video
The video link above is full of information about the wired classroom and blended learning. There are a ton of different resources and teacher testimonials. It's pretty cool. It is definitely something to revisit often as there is too much to watch or review all in one sitting! Thanks, Laurie, for sharing :)
Teacher Pages
Let me first say that I completely understand, and share in, your frustration with the implementation of teacher web pages. It has not worked out quite like I had hoped. However, I am happy to say that many of you are doing a great job. Thankfully, Shelly has been able to update the pages each week (by using an amazing amount of her own time). We believe that within the next two weeks we will have the capability to edit our own pages. Until then, however, we must have all teacher updates to Shelly Ivey no later than Friday afternoon. She is unable to update certain pages unless she has each teacher update first. Thank you for your cooperation with this!
5 Minutes for Faith
"To one who has Faith, no explanation is necessary. To one with out Faith, no explanation is possible". Often times, as Catholics, we think to ourselves: "why?". Why is this happening to me? Why is there poverty and pain in the world? Why do bad things happen to good people?
This week, I challenge you not to ask "why?", but rather "what?". What can I do to show that I have faith no matter what? What can I do to combat the negative things that happen in life? What can I pray for in order to support and help others?
Happy Monday!
Have a great week :)

The Upcoming Week...
- 1st grade will be taking the CoGat tests this week! They will be completing any make up tests through next Wednesday. Please be cognizant of this as your students are transitioning classes. A big thanks to Shelly Ivey for all she did to get the tests ready for our 1st graders- including filling out all of their names and name bubbles!
- On Wednesday, our 7th and 8th graders will travel to Hoban to watch their Fall production of The Night Thoreau Spent in Jail.
- Report cards will be mailed home on Thursday. Included in the report card envelope will be a letter detailing the changes that will take place with our Spanish program, the attendance policy, and Honor and Merit roll policies. Thank you so much to all of you for getting your grades completed by Monday morning! And thanks to Mr. Eckman for printing all of them!
- We will have our Faculty Meeting tomorrow, Tuesday, November 3, from 3:30-5:30 in the Upper Room. We will be sharing a pizza and some great ideas :)
- Please mark your calendars for Thursday, November 19. This is the day we celebrate Thanksgiving as a school community. More details will follow next week.
