From the Principal...

October 13, 2017

Parents,

Now that we are in our 3rd week of having our newsletter online, I feel it is going well. We've had a lot of online viewing, and I've received multiple positive reviews. Don't forget to share the link with your family/friends as we highlight many events happening on campus each week. The link is https://www.smore.com/96v35. We also continue to provide information on Twitter @lifelancaster.

Lastly, if you have a student who attended our campus and is now doing great things in the community, signing with a college or in college, working an awesome trade or representing our country in the military, please email me directly (address below) with the story and photographs. I would love to highlight them in future newsletters. Once a Bear, Always a Bear!

Have a great weekend.

Sincerely,

Mr. Parker

From the Nurse...

Parents,

I hope you are doing well. Please note the following important information:

There has been a stomach virus going around for the past few weeks and has shown to usually last 24 to 48 hours. We have also seen students who contracted the flu. If your child has been sick, he/she needs to be temperature free, vomit free, and diarrhea free for 24 hours before he/she may return to school. By staying home when sick, you help us to try and provide a healthy campus for everyone.

We would like to thank the staff from Dr. Clark’s office for coming out to our campus again this year and putting on the tooth fairy presentation for our kinder and first grade students. They put on a great presentation each year, and we look forward to seeing them next year.

Thank you for helping me provide the best health care possible for your child.

G. Mather, RN

Community Partnership

Thank you to Dr. Shelly Clark and her team for partnering with us again this year. In order to encourage practicing proper dental care, Dr. Clark's team speaks with our kindergarten and first grade students about proper brushing and flossing techniques. Don't forget students, brush at least twice a day for two minutes each time. The presentation is excellent and our students love seeing Allie The Alligator and The Tooth Fairy.

Our partner since the 2012-2013 school year, Dr. Shelly Clark has offices in Cedar Hill, DeSoto and Midlothian.

Common Formative Assessments (CFAs)

We have been assessing our students throughout the week in Science, Math, Reading and Writing. Teachers will share the results once they are available.
