County Central January Hawk Talk
'Home of the Hawks'
Principal's Point
Dear parents & guardians:
I hope you all had a safe and restful break. I would like to take this opportunity to wish you a happy new year - here’s hoping that 2021brings some much-needed normalcy back into our lives, and that we can soon see each other in person.
We are looking forward to having our students back in the building on Monday, January 11th. Over the next two weeks, our students in Grades 10-12 will be wrapping up their courses and completing their final assessments. We will not be holding traditional final exams this semester; instead, our high school students will complete alternative final assessments to demonstrate their learning. This change has been made out of consideration for the extraordinary circumstances we find ourselves in, and the levels of stress our students are experiencing. Individual teachers will be sharing plans for final assessments for their classes by Monday.
January 27th and 28th are junior high professional development days and January 29th is a school-wide professional development day, so there will be no classes for Grades 7-9 for these three days. Senior high students will have their last day of class on January 22nd, with January 25th-28th being days for teachers to collect final assessments, work with students individually, and support student mental health and well-being. Semester II begins on February 1st.
Report cards will be released for viewing in the Parent Portal on February 5th. If you need support to log into the parent portal, please contact the Main Office. The portal will be closed from January 22nd until February 5th.
As Semester II begins, students requiring timetable changes are asked to complete a Course Change Request Form and hand it into the Main Office. Students will then be asked to meet with an administrator to talk about the changes. This process also applies to students wishing to take courses through Palliser Beyond Borders in the second semester - complete the form and an administrator will meet with you to complete the course registration.
Once again, thank you all for your ongoing support during the school closure - your efforts to keep our kids on track during online learning have been much appreciated. We can’t wait for our kids to be back!

Grad Gab
Grad hoodie orders have been submitted and we will be in touch once the orders are completed.
We will be placing the order for Grad gowns in the near future so we will collect the graduates heights once classes resume and students are back in the building!
