πPizza with the Principal
The top 5 AR readers in each grade level at Hilliard Elementary School celebrated their success by having Pizza with the Principal. Students enjoyed a luncheon with fall-themed treats and received a certificate to share with their parents to celebrate their amazing work in reading. The principal is proud of her Hilliard Flashes!
Pirate Pizzeria π
Southside Elementary is shining its learning spotlight on Mrs. Cordova's 2nd-grade class. The class recently combined pizza and learning. Students practiced main idea and key details reading about pizzerias. From there, they wrote informational writings about the steps to making a pizza.

How awesome it is when communities and schools come together to make things more beautiful?! The United Methodist Church came to Yulee Primary School with flowers, shovels, and mulch to 'make a buzz' around the school sign. Thanks so much to these volunteers and their green thumbs!
Engaging Powerful Pirates
Several teachers from Emma Love Hardee Elementary have been participating in their monthly Building Powerful Pirates professional development. Their last Building Powerful Pirates session was focused on engagement and 26 out of 35 teachers attended!
Ms. Bohler (3rd Grade Math) and Ms. Long (4th Grade ELA) at Emma Love Hardee Elementary are bringing more active engagement to their daily lessons. Ms. Bohler and her 3rd-grade math students were representing and interpreting their data by creating pictographs. Ms. Long had her 4th grade ELA students actively engaged while answering questions during their reading lesson.
