UGA Virtual Networking Hour: Advice from the Big Dawgs!

Wednesday, Sep. 30th, 12-1pm

This is an online event.

You're invited to UGA Virtual Networking Hour, called Advice from the Big Dawgs, which is an opportunity for you to give advice and words of wisdom to current UGA students. The event will be held during the lunch hour on Wednesday, September 30th from 12:00 to 1:00 p.m. EST

How does it work?

Chats will be limited to 10 minutes, and will randomly connect you with up to six students in one hour. Choose to share advice and wisdom with students in any of the industry areas below.

Looking for LGBTQ Leaders for Out in the Workplace Panel at UGA, Nov. 5th

The Lunch with Leaders Out in the Workplace program is an opportunity for students to have lunch and hear a panel discussion with out, LGBTQ-identified community leaders who will briefly shares their professional story, how they came to terms with their identity in the workplace, how they have balanced their identity with other aspects of their work life, and how their identity has affected their career path. This program offers an opportunity for the LGBTQ students to develop a positive LGBT identity by hearing from individuals who have successfully integrated their sexual and gender identity into all facets of their life. This year we are specifically looking for those in helping professions, and individuals with backgrounds in the Liberal Arts/Humanities.

The panel will take place Thursday, November 5th from 12pm-1pm at UGA.

The Iron Yard Atlanta, Software Engineering/Design Courses

The Iron Yard Atlanta is offering a $1000 scholarship to members of the UGA Alumni Association to attend one of their immersive courses in software engineering or design at their Downtown Atlanta Location. In our work, we often create a strategic plan for the year, if not for the next 5-10 years. It helps to solidify our mission, create realistic goals, and measure progress along the way. When it comes to your career, do you have a strategic plan? If not, perhaps it's time to create one. From establishing your career mission, to setting goals for yourself, we will explore how to create a strategic plan for your career.
