Students, please access your High School and Beyond Plan (HSBP) through Xello and continue to update as necessary. To upload your HSBP essay, please look under the “Assignments” section in your Xello dashboard. As a reminder, you log into Xello via your Clever App found in your student bookmarks. A reminder to our current 10th and 12th grade students: upon satisfactory completion of your SLC and review of your required HSBP components (accessed through Xello) students will earn .5 of an elective credit to be transcripted. It is imperative that 9th and 11th grade students complete the process as next year's posting of credit is tied to this year's SLC process.

Staff Spotlight for March

Please meet Carol McKay:

Hello, my name is Carol McKay. This is my first year in Yelm as the Credit Recovery Specialist. Before that I taught math for 16 years. I am happy to be here, working with both students and staff. I am an alumni from the University of Washington, North Carolina State University, and Pacific Lutheran University. I started my career in engineering, then moved to marketing, and the third time’s a charm - teaching! Some of my favorite things are: anything the color purple, collecting all things giraffe, camping with my family, listening to audio books, playing cribbage, going on walks with friends, and painting rocks.

Meet Jacob Nolan:

Hello! My name is Jacob Nolan and I teach Health, Lifetime Fitness, and Unified P.E.. I also coach for YHS Football and RMS wrestling. This is my first year of teaching just 5 years after graduating from this very school. I am excited to be back at my alma mater and give back to the community that made me who I am. I could not have asked for a better team to start my career with than my PE colleagues and am absolutely loving being home! I hope to be contagious with my energy and positive attitude to get my students motivated to be healthy in all aspects of their lives. You may confuse me for a student but, I swear I work here! On a more serious note, this year is off to a great start and I can’t wait to see where we go from here!
