It's Dyslexia Awareness Month
Every October, Dyslexia Awareness Month is celebrated throughout the United States. This event is held annually to further understanding about the learning disability that affects as many as 1 in 5 school aged children. Dyslexia is categorized by difficulties with fluent and accurate word recognition and poor spelling. Students with dyslexia may struggle to learn their alphabet, read words in isolation, and spell words correctly.
This year, Nathan Adams Elementary will participate in the ZYX challenge to help raise awareness about the difficulties students with dyslexia face every day. Students and staff members will be challenged to recite the alphabet backwards in under 45 seconds.
Get ready... ZYWVUTSRQPONMLKJIHGFEDCBA!
