An Invitation

Parading Pumpkin Characters

We'd like to invite teachers to decorate class pumpkins for the library to display "carved" storybook characters in October! These "characters" will be on display through parent/teacher conferences and Halloween for students and other visitors! Check out these examples: Character Pumpkin Google Image Search

On September 19, our library will pass out foam pumpkins to any and all teacher who would like to "dress a pumpkin like a book character." Please, return the "characters" to the library before October 14 and invite your parents to stop in the LMC to see your classroom creations!

Thank you to Mickey Breutzmann and her mother-in-law are donating enough foam pumpkins for each classroom teacher in our whole school!

Recent Activities - Seesaw Blog

Students have been challenged to a digital scavenger hunt and a book sort to learn the locations of books and the new floor plan in the LMC. All classes have learned the expectations of checkout and library behavior.Depending on the grade level, we read A Child of Books, Fireboat, 14 Cows for America, The Man in the Red Bandana, and an excerpt from Nine, Ten:A September 11 Story. Students added to their Seesaw class recording the challenge each visit. Please, consider checking the BLOG to see our recent activities.

Dot/Ish Week Celebration

Peter Reynold's book, The Dot, is a beautifully written and illustrated story of one child's journey of teacher-encouraged growth and confidence. She learns that with just one mark, she can create beauty. Reynold's companion book, Ish, encourages the reader to find the beauty in everything and appreciate the beauty that others create. This week we celebrate Reynold's work and message!
