Note from Admin Team
Greetings Wildcat Families!
We wanted to send out one last newsletter for the year. I was so impressed with how our building rallied together this school year to make it such a positive and productive year. There is truly a lot of things to be proud of.
If your student left anything in the lost and found this school year, please make sure you reach out to me through email (matthewengler@smsd.org) before next Friday (June 3, 2022). We can arrange a time for you to come in and pick them up. We made multiple announcements at the end of the year as well as displaying them throughout the halls. Anything not picked up by Friday, June 3, 2022 will be donated.
Thank you again for a great year and have a great summer!
Matt, Jeanette and Jake

State Assessments (KAP) Results
This spring, our students state assessments in Reading and Mathematics. Our 8th grade students also completed their state assessments in Science. Parents/Guardians are able to access their Kansas Assessment Program (state assessments) student reports from the KITE Parent Portal, created by the Kansas State Department of Education (KSDE) and the University of Kansas. The Parent Portal will have the results of the 2021-22 spring assessments, as well as prior Kansas assessment results.
We have uploaded parent/guardian emails from Skyward into the KITE system so family members can have access to their student’s state assessment results. Schools will only send home printed copies of these reports if requested by the parent. Student scores and performance levels will also be uploaded in Skyward Family Access, where they can be found under the Test Scores tab.
The login page for the KITE parent portal is located here: https://parentportal.kiteaai.org/
Here are detailed instructions for accessing your child’s scores through the Parent Portal:
