Mrs. Lee's Class Newsletter
Week of January 13, 2020
What's Happening?
We are in the process of changing our emails within the schools system. Our new emails are active now. My new email is jennifer.b.lee@gcpsk12.org. I have done a test email and I did receive it. You can still send emails through the old address, however as the change over continues, I may begin not receiving them. If you send an email to the old address and you don't here from me within 24 hours, please use the new address. Thanks!
We will be walking to the high school for a dance production of "The Greatest Showman" on Thursday. We will leave the school around 10:30 and return by 12:30. We will eat lunch when we return in the classroom. Permission slips are in today's Friday Folder.
Log reading minutes on Beanstack.
In this week's Friday Folder: Report Cards, PRHS permission slip, various club information
What are we learning?
Math (Mrs. Lee's Class): We are continuing our learning on how to divide fractions by whole numbers and whole numbers by fractions. Please note, students must show their thinking with models. We will not learn the change/flip trick. Please do not teach this to your child at this time.
Science (Mrs. Lee's Class): We are continuing our unit on constructive and destructive forces. Students will be designing a model to show how a specific land form is created with a group of students. Students should meet towards the end of the week to determine what supplies they will need to bring to school for this project. Please ask your child towards the end of the week about what they need to bring.
Social Studies: World War II is the continued focus. All class powerpoints will be on our eClass page for reviewing. There are great review questions at the end of each as well.
Writing/Reading: We are focusing on opinion reading and writing. Students have chosen a "hot topic" to learn about. I encourage students to research at home as well as read the articles I provide. Since these are current topics, the research might need to be Google based. Please monitor your child as they research their topic further.
