Spring Parent/Teacher Conferences

Students will have an early dismissal on Friday, March 17th

so teachers can conduct spring parent/teacher conferences.

These conferences are teacher-recommended.

If they haven't already done so, teachers will contact those parents

they wish to conference with.

Parents who have concerns but have not received a conference request

should reach out to that individual teacher.

February 2023 Slice of PiE Newsletter

Monthly Meetings

  • Upcoming Meeting dates for the year are: 4/5 & 5/8 at 7 p.m. in the PAR.

Please note the May meeting date has been changed so update your calendars!

Assemblies

  • Our last assembly was March 6th. It was an assembly by the Vital Dance Crew and the kids loved it. They showcased high energy choreography while conveying a positive message of respect, responsibility, and setting life goals. Make sure to ask your kids about it.

Nominating Committee

  • We are seeking volunteers to serve on the Nominating Committee to develop a slate for DTS PiE Board Elections for the 2023-24 school year.

  • This committee can work via email, to develop the slate by identifying candidates for board positions (including renewal of current positions, if applicable), contacting potential candidates to determine if they will accept their nomination, and then presenting the slate for a vote at our May meeting.

  • If you are interested, email us at dtspie@gmail.com by March 13th.

Book Bingo Returns

  • We are doing another Book Bingo Night on Friday, March 31, 2023 from 6:30 to 8 p.m. in the DTS Cafeteria (bingo starts at 6:45 p.m.)

  • No admission necessary just bring a marker, highlighter, bingo blotter and head out for a family friendly evening geared toward students in PK to 5th grade (not a drop-and-go event; children must be accompanied by a supervising adult.

  • Snacks will be sold by the DTS Middle School Student Council for a small fee.

Recap of Recent Activities

  • After-School Enrichment finished on Thursday. It has been a great year with wonderful favorite repeats from the past and new classes as well. There were 139 students enrolled. A huge thank you to our instructors for their dedication to teaching, our volunteers for assisting the instructors, and to the school administration for their support in making this annual event a possibility. Thank you to our Committee Chairs Dawn MacDonald and Jenn Holden for organizing and delivering a treasured program.

Updated PiE Calendar

  • We’ve added dates for a number of events to the second half of the school year – example Color Run, Paint Nights, Plant Sale! It is available at https://dtspie.com/

Note To School

  • Tired of writing notes to the school when your child needs to stay after school or is being signed out early?
  • PiE has just the answer - a notepad with the key data points the school needs already pre-printed and organized. Simply fill in your personal data and send along with your child.
  • Reach out to dtspie@gmail.com to order yours. One pad is $3; two pads for $5.

ShopRite Gift Card Program

  • Do you shop at ShopRite? Help us earn money all year long by simply buying gift cards from PiE. Register for your increment using the form found here: https://dtspie.com/support-pie-donate/
  • How it works - you register using the form, each month, you will receive the gift card increment (for example $100), and then you write a check to PiE for the $100. Super simple and if you shop at ShopRite, it doesn’t cost you anything more or less!!
  • PiE makes 5% on every gift card purchase so that same $100, earns PiE $5.

Volunteer

  • VOLUNTEERS NEEDED for PiE Events!
  • Want to volunteer some of your time for PiE events? Fill out the Google Form & be notified of any upcoming PiE events in need of volunteers.

  • There are also some PiE committees in need of a chairperson. For more information or questions contact Debbie Lubitz at dlubitz319@gmail.com.
