Team Fees and Candidate Fees Q and A
What are my fees used for? When and how can I pay those?
Team fees and candidate fees are essential to the operation of the Tres Dias weekend. This money is used to pay campground rental, buy food and drink for team and candidates, and pay for printing costs, Pilgrim's guides, crosses and other supplies for the weekend. At the first team meeting, team members will be given a commitment form asking about your plans to pay team fees. All team fees need to be paid by the 3rd team meeting, on September 13, as many of the costs are incurred prior to the weekend. Team fees are $150.00 and can be paid with cash or check at team meetings. Feel free to make partial payments at each team meeting if needed.
What if I can't pay team fees? I really want to serve.
If you desire to serve and cannot pay the entire team fee, scholarships are available. Team members needing scholarships can indicate that on their commitment forms and assistant head chas will work out details with you. Everyone receiving scholarships is asked to pay as much as possible toward the team fee, even if you can't pay the full amount. If you have received a scholarship in the past, you will need to plan to pay at least 50% ($75.00) toward your team fees. A collection for scholarships will be taken at each team meeting.
Does it cost anything for candidates to attend?
Yes. Candidate fees are $50.00 and must be paid when candidate applications are submitted in order to guarantee the candidate's spot for the weekend. Candidate fees are typically paid by the sponsor and are considered an investment in the candidate's spiritual life.
Sponsoring Candidates
When considering sponsorship of candidates, please keep the following in mind. Most importantly, bathe your decision in prayer and follow the lead of the Holy Spirit.
Duties of the Sponsor:
Being a sponsor is a commitment not only to the candidate, but to the Tres Dias Community.
You must know the candidate personally. You must be willing to step into their shoes as their sponsor for those 72 hours. Tres Dias is for Christians who desire a closer walk with the Lord.
Be honest! Your candidate needs to know a weekend is a very busy and intensive learning experience in Christianity.
Explain the basic format of the weekend without giving away the fun surprises. Secrecy has no place in Tres Dias.
Who can attend?
*Candidates are those who have a desire for a closer relationship with Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior.
*Candidates will be accepted from all Christian denominations.
*Candidates will be at least 21 years old.
*Candidates will not have previously attended a Tres Dias weekend or similar weekend experience recognized as equivalent by Tres Dias.
* If you are sponsoring a married couple, the husband must go through a weekend before the wife can attend.
Pray for your candidate as they await their weekend encounter with Christ.
If you wish to sponsor someone, candidate applications can be found here. Applications should be returned, along with the $50.00 candidate fee to
