Dress Like a Teacher!
Project Wisdom: Morning Announcements
Here are a few of the words of wisdom we've heard so far:
- Teacher Appreciation
- Cinco de Mayo
- Mother's Day
- Self-Responsibility
- Cooperation: Doing the Right Thing
The end of each daily message is the same:
"Make it a great day...or not. The choice is yours."
End of Year Social Emotional Survey
As you may already be aware, building social-emotional learning (SEL) skills are an important goal for our school.
Elementary teachers for kindergarten, first grade, and second grade will participate in short surveys to assess how students are understanding and applying these critical skills throughout the school day. As part of these activities, teachers will be asked to complete a brief 5 question survey that encourages them to reflect on their observations about their students and the SEL skills being demonstrated.
Third and fourth grade students will participate in two exercises to better understand these concepts and to reflect on how they perceive these skills in themselves. We are excited about this process! As part of these activities, students will be asked to complete an online questionnaire that encourages them to reflect on their own mindsets and approaches to learning as well as their perspectives on school climate.
It is our goal to help students learn more about themselves by completing this process. The information that is collected in the questionnaires will help us be responsive to student needs as we continue to build our comprehensive social-emotional learning program for all ACSC students.
If you have questions about this process or if you’d like to learn more about how these activities help meet our goals, please contact Ms. Kopke.
Thank you for your ongoing support of your student(s) and of our school.
