SUMMER OFFICE HOURS

IN PERSON REGISTRATION DATES
Capital High School is excited to welcome you to the 2022-2023 school year. We hope you have had an enjoyable summer and we are looking forward to seeing you soon. This year, it is important to attend our in person registration. Entry into our building is dependent upon students having an active student ID card. Student pictures, ID card photographs, and key card distribution will all occur during in person registration. Registration times and dates are as follows:
August 3rd, 9:00 AM - 11:30 AM and 1:00 PM - 2:30 PM
August 4th, 9:00 AM - 11:30 AM and 1:00 PM - 2:30 PM
On your registration date all sophomores will have their school picture taken and also their ID card created. Juniors and seniors will have school pictures taken, but it is not necessary to get a new student ID unless you have lost your ID from the previous year. All students can purchase an ASB ($30) card during registration. Your ASB card gets you into athletics and activities at Capital for free or at a discounted rate. In addition, funds from ASB cards are used to support Capital athletics and activities. All students participating in athletics, band, choir, and drama are required to purchase an ASB card. During this time you may also purchase a parking pass ($15), and yearbook ($55),
One way to speed up the registration process is to complete some information prior to registering. You can complete the following steps in order to make the registration process easier.
Step 1: After August 1st: Sign into Infinite Campus Parent Portal. Check your address, phone numbers, and email addresses. Update any incorrect information. If you need assistance with this, please contact Jacqui Rogers at email@example.com or 208-854-4516.
Step 2: Some of the items listed above may be purchased at our online store. This includes ASB cards, yearbook, and parking permit.
Step 4: Lockers will not be automatically assigned. If you would like a locker please contact your Assistant Principal. They are assigned by the first letter of the student's last name.

Step 6: If you need assistance with school supplies or other family needs upon your return to school contact Capital’s Social Worker Scott Crandell at email@example.com or 208-472-3478. You can also call our SAFE Hotline for assistance with groceries, laundry or medications before school starts at 208-472-2233.
Step 7: Check class schedule which can be accessed in Infinite Campus starting Wednesday, August 3rd. Please note, schedules are subject to change.
Schedule change requests/Begins August 3rd:
We will not accept any requests for specific teachers or class periods. We will only be changing schedules to correct errors, replace classes that have already been completed or add open periods. If you would like to request a schedule change, please email your Capital High Counselor. We can address a majority of schedule change requests through email. Counselors will have limited availability and by appointment only.
Counselors are assigned by the first letter of the student's last name.

Open periods are available to Seniors. Juniors who have an extenuating circumstance can request one as well. If you would like an open period, please visit the student services site or email to your counselor.
Teacher or Office Aide:
Aide positions are available to junior and seniors only. If you are interested in being an aide, please email the teacher/staff and ask permission to be their aide. Once permission is obtained, please forward that email to your counselor.
PICTURE DAY AUGUST 18 FOR ALL GRADES
Pictures taken on August 18th will be used for yearbook pictures, ID cards for whole student body and to update our Infinite Campus Portal Pictures. All students need to get a picture taken on the 18th.

STUDENT DROP OFF ZONE
Attention Parents & Students, the student drop off zone is in the East Parking lot.
Parents and Students will no longer be able to drop off/pickup students at the front of the School, due to continued issues with buses not being able to gain access to the bus pickup/drop off zone. Please help keep the drop off area running smoothly by pulling all the way up to the student entrance double doors near the south end of the east student parking lot.

BACK TO SCHOOL NIGHT AUGUST 29th 6:00-7:30
It is required that all students complete a History and Physical examination prior to his/her first 9th and 11th grade practice in the interscholastic (9-12) athletic program in the State of Idaho.
All students participating in athletics during the 22-23 school year will need to register on the Sportsware website. Any questions, please email Pam firstname.lastname@example.org or reach out to your coaching staff for assistance.

Spirit Squad will be having a second tryout on August 29-10, 4:00-6:00. We will post more info on Instagram the beginning of August. Mascot tryouts August 22, 4:00-5:00.

ATTENDANCE OFFICE INFORMATION
Please remember that any absences not verified within 48 hours will result in a Truancy which could be followed by disciplinary action.
You can call absences in at 208-854-4493. Permits to leave must be called in to 208-854-4494 and thank you parents for giving us ample time to get those delivered to your students, it is much appreciated.
