Dead Man's Uke Concert in Poppies Tearoom

We are very excited about our next concert at Poppies Tea Room. On 10th August Dead Man's Uke will be performing a fun packed evening of Uke music that crosses many genres. Coming to us straight from their triumph at the Cheltenham Ukulele Festival, Tim & Jake Smithies can usually be found playing with the Anything Goes Orchestra. You may remember they came to Langcliffe Institute last year and treated us to an evening of Ukulele swing music. Get your tickets from us at Settle Music or Poppies, but hurry we're expecting them to go quickly.

We have a nice new piece of kit that has just arrived in the shop. It's a 200 watt portable PA. it has 8 speakers in a single poly-carbonate tower which is mounted on a folding stand. The single unit contains the amplifier too so no untidy wiring. All this in a package that weighs only 25lb and stows away into a carry bag.

New Violins

We have two new violins in the shop to augment our strings section. They are by Antoni and are ideal for young beginners - one is 3/4 size and the other 1/2 size. Both come with bows and a moulded case.

More concerts in the Settle area

There are a few other concerts that we are aware of. In addition to the fantastic programme at the Vic Hall, Tom in Poppies has a series of concerts running through the summer..
Also look out for one of the Moonbeams' concerts that are happening in the next couple of months including the Malham Tarn Centre open day.

Poor Little Lambs

Have you seen the info about Yorkshire's lost sheep in their yellow jerseys?

Music Summer Schools

We are looking forward to welcoming to Settle, attendees at the various music Summer Schools who will be using Giggleswick School as their base. That part of town will be ringing out with music for most of the holiday season this year.

More Guitar Sessions

We have arranged the next series of guitar sessions. From August they will be the second friday of the month and as usual will be at the PBA Ecology offices opposite the Ruchee Restaurant. 7.00pm to 9.00pm and £5 per person as usual.

Holiday servicing

As we start the summer holiday season it may be a good time to get your instruments ready for "next term". We can help with servicing, repairs, restringing and set-ups so come in and chat about your requirements.

Our ordering service continues to be popular and we're finding that most suppliers are turning round our orders very quickly. We are therefore able to get most things within a few days.

Again, come in and chat about what you want to buy,
