A note from the Principal
Hi Cheetah Family!
I have spent this past week visiting with Kristen, learning about the Cypress culture, and talking with students. You can feel the culture and pure joy when you walk into this building. Thank you for welcoming me into your space.
It was so great visiting with many of you at the Ice Cream Social. It was an amazing turn out and I loved visiting with so many students. Thank you for being supportive of our PTA and their events. I hope y'all have a great weekend!
Maggie

Prop A and Prop B with Dr. Gearing
The ballot for this November’s elections will include two Leander ISD propositions. Cedar Park High School will be hosting a discussion with Dr. Gearing Wednesday, September 28, at 6:30 pm in the CPHS Peforming Arts Center. All families and community members are invited to attend and learn more about the ballot initiatives.
Proposition A is an Attendance Credit Election. Due to an increase in local property values, the state is removing about $31.2 million from our district through a mechanism that is often called Robin Hood. If LISD voters approve Proposition A, the district will make its required recapture payment to the state. If Proposition A fails, the state could remove dollars from our schools by forcing some taxpayers to start paying taxes to a different district instead of LISD.
Proposition B is a Voter-Approval Tax Rate Election. By approving Proposition B, voters would ratify the tax rate set by the LISD Board of Trustees and generate an additional $32 million for academics in LISD, including teacher pay and the continuity of programs.
For much more information about these propositions, please visit LeanderISD.org/elections.
Appreciation weeks in October
We have 2 amazing groups of people to appreciate starting in October!
Our campus is one of the best looking campuses around thanks to the hard work and care that our custodial staff puts into our campus. The first week of October is Custodian Appreciation Week.
Let's show these 3 ladies some love. Here are their favorites list:
Much love and care are poured out on our students and staff in the food prepared daily. Our cafeteria staff works tirelessly providing amazing food. Let's thank them on National School Lunch Week.
October 10th - 14th - National School Lunch Week
Ideas to appreciate the ladies can be found on their favorites list:
Destination Imagination for 3rd - 5th graders
Does your 3rd-5th grade child like to build, design, invent, create, perform, and work with a team to solve challenges? If so, he or she might be interested in participating in Destination Imagination (DI). DI is an extracurricular, school- sponsored, volunteer-parent driven program that fosters creativity, team-based problem-solving skills and life skills for students. Leander ISD Destination Imagination is open to all students in third through fifth grade. If you are interested in learning more about Destination Imagination, please visit the Cypress Destination Imagination Page. Each team must have a team manager parent to facilitate team practices. I've also attached a document that goes over the team manager responsibilities.
Interested? Bring your student to:
