In our last Beehive, we shared some information regarding PAWS and CHAMPS. As a reminder, PAWS stands for the following:

Practice Safety

Act Responsibly

Work To Do My Best

Show Respect

We use PAWS in the hallways, cafeteria, restrooms, playground, during arrival/dismissal and assemblies. Depending on the location, there are different descriptions for each of the letters in PAWS. For example, to Practice Safety in the hallway, we would use walking feet. These are campus-wide expectations that help all students be successful!

A fun family activity might be to talk through what PAWS would look like in your home. What are different ways your family can Practice Safety, or Show Respect in your home?

When we use common vocabulary between school and home, students are more likely to make connections, retain information and follow through with expectations.

Thank you for your ongoing support!!

Apex is Coming to BCE!!

Thank you for your support of Bee Cave Elementary and the investments you make in your children’s lives. We are so excited to announce that our school will be participating in the Apex Fun Run again this year as our major PTO Fall fundraiser! The Apex program will last for 2 weeks and will kick-off with a Pep Rally on Monday, October 2nd at 1:15pm. Please look for your child's Apex Pledge Kit they will receive on that day and for e-mails coming from your teachers. See attached flyer for additional information. We love that Apex promotes character, fitness and fun!

Visiting During Lunch

When parents visit during lunch, we will have designated tables for you to sit with your child. In order to avoid overcrowding at the cafeteria tables, we ask that all parents please utilize the designated tables. Only your child will be able to eat with you. Friends will need to eat with the other students in the class. We appreciate your help, and look forward to seeing you during lunch!

Morning Drop-Off

As a reminder, we ask that all parents utilize the car rider drop-off locations in front, and back of the school to drop-off your children in the mornings. Please do not drop-off students in the front parking lot. This causes additional congestion for parents needing to park, and is also a safety concern for students. We count on our parents to assist us with making sure all are safe, and drop-off is as efficient as possible. We appreciate you!

Birthday Invitations

According to policy, students are only permitted to pass out birthday invitations at school, if every child in the class is being invited to the birthday celebration. If only select students are invited, please send birthday invitations through an Evite or in the mail. It is our priority to promote an inclusive environment, where all students feel welcome and are accepted. Thank you for your support!

Food and Nutrition Services (FANS)

In order for FANS to address our high volume of email and phone calls, families are asked to try the FAQ Page first.

Please note, the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) and the Texas Department of Agriculture (TDA) require us to notify all families of a low meal account balance. If you receive a low meal account balance phone call and wishes to opt out, you can listen to the phone call all the way through, then you will have the option to opt out at the end of the phone call. Parents can also select different message delivery methods via the Lake Travis ISD mobile app.

Brightbytes Survey - Last Day!

District communication has already been sent out regarding this survey. Today is the last day to respond! If you have few minutes today, your participation would be greatly appreciated.

PTO Purchase Spotlight

Look for this new feature in the Beehive each month! We will highlight a PTO purchase so you can see where some of the money is spent. This month's PTO Purchase Spotlight is an automatic Ice Maker for Nurse Hicks! Bumps and Bruises are common in elementary school and easily soothed by an ice pack from the school nurse. Nurse Hicks now has her own Ice Maker to insure she has plenty of ice on hand for her ice packs.
